I am trying to resolve my symptoms! I have not seen a gynocologist yet because of my busy schedule and the 4 week in advance scheduling at the office. I know I need to go, but I just don't have the time. I have been scouring over the internet for months trying to find ANYBODY with similar symptoms and experiences to mine. (That is actually how I found this board)
Okay, so here is my story:
I feel a dull pain on my left lower abdomen almost all day every day. The only way I can describe it is as a pain in my left ovary. Some days I feel next to nothing and other days I feel as though my ovary is being tugged out of my body. I have also felt my ovary...move..for lack of better words. I would almos say that it vibrates sometimes. I have had times in the past 6 months or so that I would just be sitting, watching TV and all of a sudden, I would feel a sharp pain from my ovary where I had to literally scrunch up and cry. This pain is definitely not a muscle pain, though. It is just so hard to describe to people. While this is my main symptom, I do think I have others. I have noticed that I have been bloating a lot more in the past year. I am regular, I do not have any real pain when going to the bathroom, but I just look and feel very bloated. I have recently lost 30 lbs, but each of these things did not go away. Other than this, I have been having extremely irregular periods. I either skip a month or I am late by at least 2 weeks. I went to see my primary care physician in November, and he gave me birth control pills to try to regulate it and that has worked, but my other sympotms are still there.
Here's some other interesting things that I think might be related:
In July of 2010, I was sitting on a chair while doing some work on my computer and when I got up, I had an excruciating, stabbing pain in my lower abdomen that wrapped all the way through to my rectum. I literally could not walk and my mom (who I was living with at the time) panicked and almost rushed me to the ER. I curled up and went to bed but when I woke up the next morning, my stomach was huge and I could not even go to the bathroom without horrible pain. I had pain and extreme bloating for almost a week and my mom even commented on it to me repeatedly. Eventually, it went away and I got on with my life. Then, in September of 2010, I went to visit my 90 year old great grandmother and at 11pm, I woke up with a stabbing pain in the upper part of my abdomen. I woke up my grandmother, scrambled out of her house while doubled over in pain, and drove myself 22 miles to the nearest hospital but by the time I got into the ER, the pain was gone. The nurse even told me I was a hypochondriac. That was said to possibly be a kidney stone or something similar since they are quite common in my family.
I guess I'm just wondering if anyone has had any similar experiences. I am planning on scheduling with the gynocologist tomorrow, but I would really like to find someone to relate to. It has been very bizarre for me. I am 21 years old, recently married, and this has been something that has interfered somewhat with my marriage already. The pain makes me extremely cranky and i'm definitely not much of a joy to be around when I have a "flare up". Does anyone have any ideas before I go to the doctor of what could potentially be wrong? I have looked into endo, cysts, etc but I feel like I only have 1 or 2 symptoms of these types of things so I'm not sure how much I identify with them. Thanks!
