This always happened to me too. I've learned ways to prevent it for a little while, but not altogether. You should drink a lot of water because sometimes when your stomach grumbles, it just means your thirsty. Try to eat before class because it will fill your stomach up a bit. Don't eat or drink too fast because you'll get gas bubbles which will pop in your stomach. I also have these things called TicTacs. They are just small white tablet looking sweets which you can get in many different flavours. I get mint. Whenever you feel like your stomach is about to grumble just suck on one. Any small sweet works actually. I never leave my house without them. If you can, stand up and walk about when you think it's going to happen. It helps. Also, this is the hardest one but try not to think about it. You'll make yourself nervous and it will happen. Your stomach is connected somehow to your emotions. Good luck with this

Not only do I get stomach rumbles/growling, but I also get very high pitched digestive noises. It kind of sounds like water rushing through my system - but I don't often get diarrhea strangely enough. I can also feel my guts as the sounds happen, if that makes sense? It's almost like they're vibrating as the sounds happen? That's the only way I can think to describe it. I am not in pain though, or bloated. But I do get nauseous often. And my stomach will start growling even if I've already eaten just 30 minutes prior.
I have tried taking fiber pills, Culturelle, drinking chamomile tea, exercising more, cutting out all caffeine from my diet, no soda, no coffee, more fruit and cooked veggies, taking gas relief pills - but have not found something that is a long-lasting solution. Culturelle worked for a month and then the sounds came right back (although I will admit that I'm back on them now just to find some small and temporary relief). Fiber pills made my digestive system go crazy - some days I would go to the bathroom 4 times a day and others just one, so it was very irregular. Chamomile tea before bed use to help, but lately it hasn't been doing much for me. I've read about charcoal pills, but have been having trouble finding them in stores. So, I am really at my wits end with this.
I have read through this whole thread and decided to try the olive oil and diluted ACV tips. I took a tablespoon of olive oil this morning, then took a culturelle, and now I am sipping on 8 oz of water mixed with 1-1.5 tablespoons of ACV and I get a few sounds every hour or so - and compared to when I woke up this morning, where the noises where constantly loud for hours, I am taking this as a good sign.
But I'm still at a loss at why this has suddenly happen to me. Six months ago, my body was fine and I wasn't even treating it that well! I got minimal exercise and ate out often, but now that I exercise more and choose healthier options, my gut has gone crazy. I thought I would give it time just in case my change in diet was too radical for my body to handle but after nearly 7 months and these sounds are still persisting, I know that there is something internally wrong. I'll be going to a gastroentologist tomorrow morning - but as a walk-in patient so I'm not sure they'll be able to fit me in, but I hope to make an appointment and get a diagnosis. I will defiantly follow up with you guys with what happens after that!
This situation has made me so depressed and self-conscious and I've been so ignorant of it - just thinking that it would naturally go away on it's own - but I refuse to let this thing take control of my life any longer. I highly recommend you guys look into seeing specialists, as I will be doing the same!

After getting a few blood tests, my doctor ruled out H.pylori or SIBO, but I did test positive for a Vitamin D deficiency and had signs of inflammation. He put me on a two week trial of Dexilant (a PPI) to help regulate my stomach acid and it worked pretty well for about two days before all my issues returned full force and seemingly even louder. So I decided to stop the Dexilant and that's when I began to experience intense and constant hunger and a burning sensation in the stomach. I consulted with him again and we decided that since the PPI was not working that well we would schedule an endoscopy - which I had done this morning. We went over the images from the procedure right after that and it turns out I have GERD and stress gastritis - which means that a little bit of blood and a lot of stomach acid gets drained into my small intestine and irritates the digestive tract by making it work overtime and thus the disgusting gurgling gut noises occurs. He is getting a few samples biopsied, so I won't get any medication until a week and half from now, but now I finally diagnosed the issue and will be working towards correcting it.
If you have insurance, I highly suggest you look into seeing someone to get your medical mysteries solved! It took time and money but I am very happy I pursued this.
