I have the same problem with a distended stomach even though I have low body fat. Just to add to the given solutions of fixing your posture you should also look into consuming more potassium to negate the effect of salt bloating. It would be important to consume potassium from natural sources such as bananas and apricots. It's interesting because there are even videos of YouTube of people going on an all banana diet to stop stomach bloat. I wouldn't ever go that extreme but adding more bananas and dried apricots to my diet have made my stomach bloating go down substantially.

I have the same problem. Mine seems to get worse before and during my period but I really want it to go away because it makes me self-conscious and I don't have a great self-esteem as it is. These comments have really given me some ideas but due to the times and situations that make mine worse I don't think it's going away completely

Have you tried walking ? Maybe 15 minutes to start then boost it up lil by lil, at least 3x a week? When I use to do boxing and I got a little careless i would put albolene around the areas of fat, just rub it and it would make you sweat like you wouldnt believe, you can find it in the female make up removal area in pharmacies, hope it helps

Hi, just wanted to say I have the exact same thing. It's a relief to know I'm not the only one, although I'm sorry that you are dealing with it as well. I look back at pictures from when I was a child and I have ALWAYS had a distended lower belly. I am 29 now and have never gotten rid of it, and I know it will get worse as I get older. I suck in my stomach all day long just like you. I wear loose tops and try to avoid slim-fitting ones because I look like I'm 3-6 months pregnant at all times. On my period I get incredibly bloated, to the point where I think my stomach is going to burst. During those times I really do look like I'm 9 months pregnant. My boyfriend and I have been together for 5 years and I still suck in my stomach in front of him because I'm too embarrassed to let him see it the way it really is, but even when I suck it in I still look like I'm a few months pregnant. If I exercise and eat really healthy (no alcohol or processed foods) I notice the bulging goes down slightly, but my belly has never truly been flat in my entire life. Hopefully this gives you a little relief knowing there are other people out there who have the same issue!

I love that you posted this. Thank you for this response. It's very healthy to have a small amount of fat even if you are very thin. We focus so much on what a body looks like and not how healthy it is. Our overly thin and 0 fat culture obsesses about fat being bad. But, I suffered through eating disorders and realize that a small amount of fat is not only healthy it's necessary for a well-balanced life. So, our bodies are different and we should realize as long as they are healthy, where and what fat is stored is less a problem then we make it out to be. A balanced and healthy diet is the best thing to do as when we were strict other complications arise and it's not sustainable

its from your organs. your female organs lean on the lining. so it causes the bulge. it is perfectly normal. most likely nothing is wrong.

This is it. I have hyperlodosis and anterior pelvic tilt, I've always wondered why the so much curve at my lower back, making my butt shoot out and and my lower abdomen bulging. I need to leave abs exercises, cause those never seem to work, and begin the correctional exercises. I also stay in front of the computer all day.
