Hi, im a 22 year old male, i have previously had hodgkins twice 18 months ago resulting in intensive chemo and a bone marrow transplant, but i beat it both times, but obviously i check throughpy and regularly for lumps etc. i now have tonsillitis and have had this lump appear on the back of my neck, its roughly in line with the bottom of my ear and just to the right of my spine, im concerned that it may be returning hodgkins but my gut feeling it that its to do with and caused by the tonsillitis, my gp prescribed some antibiotics for the tonsillitis and they are now starting to work and its slowly getting better and clearing but im still concered about the lump, it wasnt there before and it mildly tender with a dull ache. Please could someone help?
Kind regards
AshleyRobert
Hello Ashley,
I'm so sorry for your worries and for your long battle with Hodgkin's.
I am also a survivor but was lucky enough to beat with first line treatment 5 years ago. Listening to your story and your worries, I wanted to encourage you to join a very active forum for other Hodgkin's patients and survivors (including many who have relapsed and had BMTs, SCTs). You can search and find it easily by searching "lymphoma" and "web magic."
Wishing you a healthy 2012,
Jess
