Andrew Stimpson, who was diagnosed with HIV back in 2002, considers himself the luckiest man on planet as he managed to escape one the deadliest diseases of today. He is the first person known who managed to get rid of the virus from his body. It is still not known how this have happened but Mr. Stimpson is willing to undergo further testing to help establish the possible mechanisms of the virus and the way to defeat it.
Andrew Stimpson was first diagnosed with the HIV in August 2002. He didn’t undergo any special treatments except adding dietary supplements into his nutrition. Fourteen months later he was tested negative for the first time and then another 23 tests confirmed this.
This is the first case of so-called spontaneous clearance of HIV and the scientists are hoping that the following tests will help in realizing the way the virus works and even help in treating the disease.
