I've been smoking weed for 8 years now and I have found it does not effect anything, asides from my eyes and my appetite. haha.
I used to give in to the munchies and developed a bit of a pot belly I then decided it was time to get in shape. Now I am 6'6" and 210lbs and i still smoke everyday! P90X will get you tanked and you can still smoke, just wait until after the workout or you'll die. :-P

Actually marijuana does effect muscle growth it has been shown to decrease to decrease testosterone, yet it increases 5a reductase making the body produce more dht(hence why stoners typically lose their hair) So while smoking u can do some penis enlargement excercises but as for regular excercise ur screwing yourself up.

Hey i dont think smoking weed effects musclegrowth. im 19 and smoke for like 2 years and last year i was smoking hard like couple joints a day and i have always loved working out. i can go to gym and smoke one after but generally i think its better not to smoke and lift cuz herb makes you slow and lazy too, dont feel like lifting that much. But it depends on what kinda person are you and how your body reacts to smoking. I know lot of people (bodybuilders too) that used to smoke a shitload and be able to build their muscles just like people who did not smoke. it only depends whether people lift or not. Now i smoke like once or twice a week im glad its not every day anymore. take care bro

Whether or not weed affects muscle growth is beyond me. There are more than likely numerous tests and studies that will say it is either good or bad. It all depends on what the researchers want to prove...

All I can tell you is my own story, and then let you decide for yourself.

I started smoking marijuana regularly when I was 17. At the time I weighed 125lbs. When I was 18 I started to lift weights and run (5 times a week lifting weights, 7 times a week running). Motivation was never a problem for me; but, I never smoked before working out. When I reached 21 years, I weighed only 130lbs. (with a body fat % of less than 10). This was probably due to over-working myself. Then, halfway through my 21st year I stopped running and started into Olympic Weightlifting. From the time I started to three months later I smoked pot heavily and went from 130lbs. to 140lbs. (still with a body fat % less than 10). I then proceeded to slow down with smoking for the next four months. During that time I went from 140lbs. to 150lbs. (again, body fat % less than 10). After those four months I gave up smoking marijuana. It has been three months since I quit smoking. Since then, my weight has not changed, but the weights I am capable of lifting are ever increasing.

I cannot say smoking marijuana helps or hinders muscle growth. But, I can say from experience that since I have stopped smoking I feel:

1) More refreshed when I wake up in the morning,
2) More focused and intense during training,
3) I am able to remember more and thus,
4) I am smarter in general.

Hey man. If your wondering about putting on weight and gaining muscle ther are heaps of easy ways to do it. Firstly and most importantly you have to eat alot. Alot of carbs, proteins and a bit of fat. You need to Be eating 5 -6 times a day. Three main meals with three lighter meals in between. If you have a busy lifestyle have shakes three times a day with a banana. You need to eat. Secondly you need to go to the gym. 4 times a week with a gap in between each workout. When you work out don't do any cardio. Warm up on lighter weights or a rowing machine in high intensity. Don't go for any more then an hr for the first three weeks. Remember that the first three weeks is when your muscles will react most. Have a shake before each session in the gym and after also. Go for a misture of carbs and protien at first. Then dude your pretty sweet. Just don't smoke before your session and you'll be right dude. Makes you eat heaps which is good. Hope that helped man.

So generally if you are in year 8 stick to running , pushups, situps, shadow boxing and squats (all without weights). Do these things until you drop, to get a good workout. This way you get the maximum growth and strength out of your body while you are growing. .

It does on a microscopic level,however after a workout your muscles need time to rebuild and refuel.That can only be accomplished by rest(Sleep/relaxation) and eating.Now think about it........ what better way to stimulate both of those actions? Fat blunt=Hungry(eat well,not munchie food)Happy,Sleepy(this is where the rest comes in).    Note(Smoking weed is not going to help your gains,whatso ever,but if you smoke as much as i do,you find ways to justify the action)     P.S Note(the better the budz the better the relaxation)

im 17 been smoking kush for about 4 years now, ive been working out for about a year and a half. I started around 145pounds, now im 175, i take my training very seriously and i smoke almost everyday.... It has not made a difference in my training but it used too.. Before i would get get high and be way to lazy to do anything.. but now that i smoke more and have a higher tolerance i have got used to dealing with life high, some people sesh and their day is f*****g over cas they dont care about anything and just wanna chill and lazy around all day... These days when i get high i have to do something, i use weed as a weapon almost, like ill rip my bong and right after im fiending to hit the gym ( i literal have to go) i dont f*****g care about food, or sitting on the couch i need to get jacked. When i get to the gym all i can think about it ripping the sh*t out of my muscles, (not high 25 min chest workout) ( when high 40 min chest workout supper high intensity) when im sober i feel more lazy and less determined to workout, you would think that this would be the opposite but when you over come that laziness and get used to going to the gym high or burned out you will do alot better.. Its seems retarded but it has worked for me... It may lover testosterone but that does not mean you have no testosterone... If you workout and your getting sore and your eating good and lots of nutrition there is no way you will not gain muscle no matter how much you smoke. Just please dont do a set of chest then a set of legs then a set of back then a set of bis and then set of tris cas that wont get you anywhere lol the muscle needs to be stimulated over a a period of time and muscle must get very exhausted so it can be repaired. Keep in mind that no matter how good your training is, if you do not have the right nutrition you will not gain as quickly... rest is important but the right nutrition is key and lol dont just be a protein monkey you also need dem good carbs =)

Okay dude, I've been in this situation before, I was 17 6foot 2 and 64kg and when I had enough feeling self conscious I started eating 12 eggs a day, eggs are cheap, easy to down because you can just drink it raw, and 12 eggs is a lot of gain each day.buy 7 cartons of 12 a week, and eat your standard amount of food aswell, just add eggs.

Hi..

I have been smoking weed for last 3 -4 years . I am a service man and most of the time you will find me on my seat doing some sh*t stuff (office work). I am going to workout for last two years from my experience ..

"WEED DOES NOT EFFECT YOUR MUSCLES /BODY GROWTH AT ALL"

Moreover people who wish to built body as early as possible shall once try weed before workouts Its phsyco impact would make you a bit senseless .This means you can keep on running /weight lifting without feeling much stress/fatigue .
