Hi, I am probably quitting smoking mj for the most part (i'm not totally convinced yet)--- but, I smoked probably 3x a week for the past year (i know , not that much)... but it has really effected me a lot more the last few months, and my I became much slower, very poor memory, and just feel less engaged so I haven't smoked for about 2 weeks now.....
But my head still feels the same--- Like I am constantly aware that I am operating at a different level than I did a few months ago. My memory is still weaker, and there is a constant pressure in my head, not too bad, but it is constant--- I just wonder if this is ever going to go away--- it doesn't seem like it (and it's odd because I don't feel at all addicted, and I didn't smoke all that much--- Any ideas on what to do?)

I was just telling my significant other that I don't feel like myself...my stomach feels nervous after i force some food down, which is very little. and my head just feels cloudy and all I want to do is sleep and when I do fall asleep I wake up 2 hours later. I feel exhausted from getting little sleepg on and off.

I've been smoking everyday for 13 years. Within the last 5 years I've been smoking only top notch bud at the same rate as the schwag I was smoking previously. Anyways, I quit 8 days ago and am experiencing the headaches as well. They dont seem to go away and my concentration level is horrible. Good news is, if you hang in there this does taper off, sometimes taking months. There was a time when I quit for 7 months within the 13 years of smoking. I thought I had ruined my brain because of the time it took to feel normal again, but in about 2 months I finally began to feel normal. Hang in there, it just takes time.

Ahhhh....MJ....
Definitely not for everybody. Consider this: some people have adverse reactions, sometimes severe ones, from injesting biologically-grown cannabis. It could be a head-ache, nausea, or many other things, but I know for a fact that even an experienced smoker can sometimes have a bad experience for seemingly no reason at all.
I'm definitely with you on the "slowness", poor memory, etc.
I have to ask: is that primarily due to MJ, or is it because you inadvertedly gave up some things (like time) in smoking MJ? People who keep their brain stimulated can retain their sharpness well into old age - 80's, 90's and so on. Of course, physical activity, diet, etc, all play a part. I know for a fact that when I get groggish, I either haven't slept enough, or I have probably created some deficiency in vitamins or minerals.
As for the pressure in your head...I would be surprised if that occurred constantly - even in weeks that you've decided not to smoke. I would definitely do some experiments with withdrawal and smoking to see what causes the pressure. Most likely it's blood vessels being more constricted or inflexible than normal, and blood travelling through them simply creates more pressure.
Now that could be serious. I've had severe headaches due to pounding in my head, likely caused by lack of oxygen or/and smoking more than I should have. I've also read that smoking pot is increases your chance of having a stroke - it makes sense to connect the headaches to the splitting headaches to strokes.
I don't see what would go wrong if a smoker adjusted their diet, exercise (physical and mental!) and so on to compensate for smoking pot. I've yet to do it on purpose, but that might be the solution to whatever problems it causes. For some individuals. Others are just cursed from birth and won't handle pot no matter what.
In conclusion, pot's great to get high...but once there are side effects you'll have to make a choice.

thc is fat soluable. when u smoke for the first time, unless u smoke a lot the first time, u don't really get the high feeling. this is because it is absorbed into fat cells before it reaches your brain in large quanities. this is also why thc can be traced in your urine for so long, (it is slowly coming out of your fat cells and entering the blood stream, to then be filtered out by your kidneys) all the head cloudieness and the strange feelings is just the thc still left in you. (sorry the answer is so long, I just wanted to explain all he mechanics.) it will go away soon after you are able to pass a drug test, and I say soon after because you CAN pass a drug test with a small amount of thc, there is a cut off amount allowed. I used to smoke on average anywhere from 3-10 blunts a day of very high quality weed, plus some bowl packs and such. even 2 months after quiting I was having panic attacks and actually feeling kind of buzzed, foggy, whatever you want to call it. but after about 3, 3 and a half months I was back to how I felt before it

everyone i agree with the last person..i actually have this feeling now because i smoked a couple weeks ago...but before i didn't smoke for 3 months and everything was becoming clear again. But i am defiantly quitting now because i know in time the feelings will get better you just have to stick through it and not do it again if you want the feelings to go away for sure. i find just taking a deep breath and doing something to distract your mind helps a lot! stick in there! ;-)

I've been through this before. It does take about 3 or so months to start feeling normal again, but when you do, you feel like a new person! You feel better than you ever have is what I noticed. Now if mj does this to you, I wouldn't recommend doing anything hard. I was stupid enough to do ecstacy a few times a few years ago, and have never felt the same since. I think people who are sensitive to mj have a predispotion to get head problems pretty easy. That's just my own opinion, but be smart and don't waste your time on anything harder than mj. Hope you all feel better soon.

after smoking for a long period of time thc affects the way ur brain analyzes ur senses. this mixed with everyday life to people with stressful lives or people who have been through a scary time in there life causes anxiety. mostly without thc but by smoking pot with stress u have about 75% more chance of developing anxiety issues. i smoked for well over 5 years and slowly felt anxiety takinga toll on my body pressure in my head never comfortable dizzy all the time heights would send me into cold sweats and shaking. leaving my home became a issue for me waiting at red lights lines in stores bright lights and i could go on and on. i realized this more after a near fatal car accident. i use to be able to smoke weed all day since the car wreck i tried to smoke pot 1 time about 6 months ago and i took a grav bong hit just 1. within 10 seconds later i ran outof my house freaking out thinking i was dieing. i was concentrated on breathing but it flt as if no oxygen got to my lungs. my vision was in tunnel warp mode and i couldnt help but to yell at everyone and begin to cry for it to stop. after i came down i had mild attacks for awile then with counceling and a will from me to regain my life i overcame anxiety. i was suffering from anxiety post tramatic stress disorder and many phobias that launched my anxiety. the point is this smoking pot use to make me feel relaxed it should if done right, however if stressful times in your life are present pot can trigger some very unpleaseant feelings.

I feel this way too so i should prolly stop MJ for a little bit. I hate the feeling, its like, I'm not in the right world but not in a crazy way, just in a visual kind of way.
I really want to figure out whats really causing this, I don't smoke that much at all and I'm scared it might be something serious but my doctor doesn't know sh*t.
Maybe i have an addiction to caffeine. But i really want to figure out whats wrong because I'm finding it impossible to do normal tasks or anything creative.

I have felt the same way for the past month. I got my first panic attack after taking shrooms and then I was fine after that day. I then started taking diet pills and had another panic attack. I hated it. Ever since then everytime I smoke mj i feel the symptoms of the panic attack but i can still maintain acting normal. Also even when I dont smoke I feel shaky in my stomach almost like a nervousness. and head pressure and heaviness. I been smokin for like a year and a half now but the last 7 months i started smoking everyday. I really miss smokin tho. Has anyone ever had this problem and been able to go back to smoking after it all went away?
