I have to tell you that most physicians would rather prescribe cannabis than opiods, nausea medications, anti diarrhea medications and appetite stimutors. Tens of thousands of people die from accidental overdose. Opiate addiction is at an all time high and opiates among everything else prescribed to my son have a list of side effects that are worse than the disease. I recomend anyone considering cannabis speak frankly with their physcian and do your own research. No one should be 40 pounds under weight and miserable 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. My son was 17 when he was diagnosed with pancreatitis with no cause identified. He attends university and works part time. He also works out when he is well enough. When he can eat it is low fat, low carb. He is done with lab created pharmaceuticals. He uses cannabis to have his one meal a day. Dinner. Cannabis has proven medical effectiveness for 4000 years. I do not use it myself, but, I allow my son due to years of research and discussions with many physcians. The prescription medication has made him ill. Please do not pass judgement on anyone's medical decisions. This is a serious illness. Difficult to manage, and, so far, for my son, untreatable. His appears to have no cause. Not when it manifests at age 16.

My son has his gallbladder removed November 2014 "just in case". The gallbladder was not healthy, but gallstones is not causing his pancreatitis. It is a frustrating illness and no clue as to what is causing this.

Oh yeah, let them just load her up on multiple medications, or simply use marijuana.. way to go, cheesehead. There are ways of taking in cannabinoids without smoking it, such as baked goods, supplements and oil drops. Smoking cigarettes has been proven to cause intestinal and stomach problems, but there is no such proof for marijuana

I would get another opinion. Some tests will appear normal although you have symptoms of this disease.

Today the marijuana is separted into it's components and you don't have to smoke it. You can take it as oil in a capsule (makes you sleep like a baby at night). Then there are the edibles...cookies (I call them dog biscuits because they look like milk bone!). Also there is a cream that is used as a topical which some people have used as an effective treatment for back pain. I don't know if this stuff has a deleterious effect on the body and it's organs but i do know it isn't affecting the lungs like the smoke would.

Holy sh*t don't listen to this guy. Research all the side effects of those harmful and addictive drugs he's trying to tell you to take. Marijuana is a safe non addictive alternative. These people that tell you to do prescription meds instead if a natural plant have been brainwashed.  I always post informative articles that aren't based on lies like this guy is repeating to you.  Thank you very much!!

Get checked out for sphicter of Oddi- it is a very painful condition in that specific area and type 3 shows up normal on all tests. You need to be referred to a dr to get an ERCP for diagnosis. Good luck! Susan M.

I also have SOD type 3 and suffer excruciating pain everyday. I cannot eat anything and am fading away to nothing but according to NJ i don't qualify for medical marijuana so i will get kicked out of pain management if I smoke pot even though it helps my pain and helps my muscles relax enough so I can eat!! Any Ideas?? Susan M. With SOD
