Did you go on any meds after

Well, here from a Google search. Been off MJ 2 months (until a relapse last night--more on that in a minute). Never had BP issues in my life. After quitting MJ, had suddenly developed high BP, wound up in ER with 220+ systolic, 100+ diastolic. Multiple other times it was dangerously high (hypertensive urgency) as well.

Bought BP machine and also RXed mild anxiety medication. Baseline BP still running stage 2 hypertension levels (150s), and this is with being cautious about everything I do (no more whiskey, NSAIDs, caffeine, etc.).

Smoked 420 last night. Drank whiskey like a fish too. Blood pressure perfect 120/80 first time in months.

I worked so hard to quit, but Idk what to do. BP medication seems like a worse alternative than MJ. Maybe I'll try to taper off instead of quitting cold turkey.

Thanks for this discussion everyone. I think it's important. Not a lot of info out there.

Ive had the same reaction BP has always been 105-120 over 70-82. I was smoking once per night for a couple of years, stopped cold turkey and BP went very high. 130-160 over 85-99. Its low in.the morning and then throughout the day gets higher and higher. Been 3 1/2 weeks now...still elevated. Has anyone had this BP increase after quiting and eventually got better?

Three weeks into quitting (vaped extracts all day) and I’m having the same issue! Was below 120/80 while on it and now high 130/80’s with peaks at low 140/90’s when I feel the tightening in the chest. Not getting other symptoms other than anxiety. Dreaming again which is awesome, forgot what it was like. Trying to eat as good as possible so hopefully the BP and anxiety will go away in time. This sucks though! Never would have thought weed would cause this kind of withdrawal.

experiencing same as everyone, was doing daily what I thought was super low dose eatable, 10mg turned to 20/30 for around 6 months to year. 2 weeks in stopping and bp 150/100. Used to have bp issue but been gone for years….now on amlodine and bo managed. Not a lot of sharing when this resolves for most but will look to stop bp drug asap and see where it’s at month in stopping.

My turn. This has been an extremely helpful forum, so I'd like to contribute.

20 years heavy user. Quit cold turkey when my dad died six months ago. BP skyrocketed. I got into running and taking garlic, beet juice, magnesium taurate, and that slowly helped. It took about two months to get back to 'normal'. I started using MJ again, and it actually sped up the process of lowering my BP.

Here's the interesting part: I'm on a three week vacation currently in Kentucky where MJ is illegal. My BP has again skyrocketed almost instantaneously upon withdrawal. It would be a massive oversight to believe the two aren't connected.

Experiencing this same issue. Only about 2 weeks in. Never had hypertension or headaches like this previously. Also quit caffeine at the same time. Any updates from anyone after a year or so?
