Well, bodybuilding and masturbation are related. Both requires our (male) hormone, testosterone. Masturbating before and after a working out session may not be suitable. Why not before working out? because your testicle need rest as you working out, the strength that you require to lift "burns" testosterone. So in short, masturbating before workout will affect your performance in the gym/ can't lift as heavy as you usually do.
What about after working out? Basically, the testosterone are burned during the working session. Thus one needs adequate rest in rebuild the lost "energy". The best day to masturbate is rest day. Give yourself a week off, Masturbate during that week (maybe 2 or 3 days) and get lots of rest in order to conserve the energy/ strength for the upcoming gym week.

P.S. add zinc(brown rice, oyster and etc OR get it from your nearest pharmacy) into your diet as zinc are natural testosterone booster. Have a good healthy diet to have greater sperm count and arousal. (high protein, good fats, complex carbs)

It seems that higher levels of testosterone in the blood correlate to higher levels of hypertrophy (otherwise no one would take anabolic steroids). In addition increased levels of testosterone also appear to promote higher levels of libido (hence the marketing of test-boosting supplements such as tribulus as "performance" enhancers). As teen bodybuilders, our lifting regimens and nutrition/supplement plans cause us to have elevated levels of testosterone.

MAsturbation USES testosterone and does not make more, therefor is counter productive in weightlifting or anyform of seriuos workout routine. However jsut how much of an impact it has is vague

I find that it proves harder to workout after masturbation (or any sexual endeavor which results in ejaculation) because of this "sluggishness."

hello, i have read all the comments and answers to the question, i agree and disagree with a lot of the points that were made. i have been working out for four years now and i also masturbate like most men do but about twice a week, unfortunately i have to say yes it does effect your muscle building process but not as drastically as people make it seem. Scientifically the human muscle needs testosterone to feed it and grow while needing also many other things as well, when you masturbate the testosterone level in your body drops a great deal not allowing enough of it to feed the muscle to allow growth, so basically you do not have to stop masturbating if you workout but try to make it only once weekly and if you can once every two weeks would be perfect and would not effect you almost at all.

You will never know if you are addicted until you try to stop...If you have not gone 10 days without masturbating...chances are you are in for a real shock when you try to stop.
