I'm also 25...lol and trying to conceive
Just a thoughtful - you may have endometriosis. Took years for a friend toget the diagnosis- but it was responsible for very similar symptoms to yours
I have had this same problem for 3 years now. I got it first when I was 18 years old. At first I would have only one day mid cycle bleeding every now and then but by time it has gone worse. Now I bleed 6-7 days and I have to use tampon. I'm a bit worried since every article about ovulation bleeding says it lasts 1-3 days and mine is much longer. Sometimes it's just blood but also mucus.
My period is otherwise very regular. I bleed every 27 days and it lasts about 6-7 days. On 9-12th day of my cycle I get my ovulation bleeding.
And this happens every month unless I have had heavy exercise (running). It's seems to cure this problem.
I have had an ultra sound but nothing abnormal was wound. I also ate birthcontrol pills and they helped but when I stopped eating them I got my problem back. So I'm pretty sure it's hormonal. My TSH is normal so it's not because of thyroid gland problem. I've been diagnosed with GAD which is now under control but I'm still thinking it might be stress that is causing all of this?

Sounds like uterine cysts. I have the same.
Abstain is not appropriate.
Is there a reason you were seeing a general practitioner instead of gynecologist for your women's health needs?
What was the result of this?
