I have had the mirena for one week now. I have had spotting with light bleeding since insertion. I am 41 and had it inserted for a thick uterine lining. I was told it would work on shedding my lining and would keep it thin. The main problem I have is I have vaginal burning on and off and a bloated belly. I also feel like I have to urinate often. I know the bleeding is common and it could be months. Not what I wanted but I could deal with it for now.

I went in a few days ago and had my strings checked due to me not feeling them but they were properly in place. I'm just wondering if anyone has had these symptoms and if they clear up eventually.
