I had my tubal 5/16/03 when I had my second child. I an now 16 days late with no symptoms of my period. I am however having pregnancy symptoms. The last time I was this late I was pregnant with my daughter! I took 2 pregnancy tests so far and both have come out negative as well!

I'm 33 and had my tubal done 9 years ago. Everything was fine and as it should have been before my tubal. Once I had my tubal done, I had pain, discomfort, I told my doctor and was told it was my body adjusting. Well it has been a long adjusting process, because I still have pain from time to time, I'm exhausted at times other times I'm wide awake. I have no interest in sex, which has cause problems with me and my husband. Now my period is 10 days late, but pregnancy test is negative. Is it to early for me to be going through menopause. I seen a few people mention it. Idk but something has got to give.

I had a tubal ligation done 7 years ago after my 3rd child. They were cut tied and burned. Last month I had my period for almost 14 days and then I spotted for a week after that. Now this month my period is 4 days late. I've been extremely tired, exceptionally hungry, very moody and emotional, and crampy. I've never missed a period since I had my tubal done, I'm now 31 years old. Last night I woke up at 3am with the taste of vomit in my throat and it was burning. I couldn't stop coughing which seemed to make the burning and the taste worse. Any ideas on what could be going on?

having a tubal has nothing to do with menopause. the hormones are not involved. if you had a total hysterectomy - then yes because you would not be producing any more estrogen (that's what your ovaries do and with a total hysterectomy the ovaries are also removed). many people e only have their uterus removed - leaving the ovaries so they don't go through menopause until the ovaries begin to shrink and stop producing estrogen- which could be several years later. A tubal ligation only stops the eggs from being carried to the uterus for fertilization but some eggs may still find their way into the tubes making for an ectopic pregnancy. this type of pregnancy always ends in a miscarriage because the fertilized egg is NOT inside the uterus and will, many times, burst the fallopian tube that they have attached too causing severe abdominal pain and requiring surgery to remove the ectopic fetus and/or repair the tube.

I'm in the same boat 34, 4 children had my tubes tied with my last. Have any of you had your thyroids checked? I had my doc do a T3 and T4 along with all the regular checks and they found my T4 was a little low which is indicative of hypothyroidism. This can happen due to pregnancy. Can't say its directly related, but my periods went from regular to skipping every few months. They haven't started me on meds yet, but I'd like to see if anyone else has hypothyroidism with similar symptoms. I never skipped periods until I had my tubes tied. This getting older is for the birds!

Just read this  - They said that PCOS or hypothyroidism are both associated with missed periods after a tubal.
