Monistat 1 - how long does it take to work? what is normal?

I have had a yeast infection before, but went to the doctor for it.
now that I have one again, I don't have any insurance. I used monistat 1 for it this time. I am curious just how do I know its working?
my pain and itching and swelling have decreased, but I am still having a lot of white clumpy discharge. I still feel that there is a problem down there, but it isn't crippling now. is that normal.
and with the monistat one, (which I won't use again) there came a night of no sleep because it amplified everything by 100!!! itching and burning!!!
so what is normal for a yeast infection when it is clearing up?

Im guessing it was probably your immune system trying to kick it. Blood surrounds an infected area, there was a bit of blood for me too, but thats because my period was supposed to start 2 days ago i think.

I totally feel the same!! I took it earlier today and was freaking reading all these. Honestly I feel a world of better. The only thing is the medicine feels like it is never ending in terms of discharge.
This is a great product that provided nearly immediate relief. We're talking within hours of taking it. Yes, it burned a little in the beginning and I was nervous but just give it time. It's only burning I think bc of the scratching.

Alright so, being an extremely nervous and anxious person overall, I anticipated the moment I had to insert this egg inside me for hours. I use tampons on my period and am sexually active so I wasn't necessarily afraid of inserting it inside, I was scared of placing it in wrong or having negative side effects instantly after because of the negative reviews i've read. I finally just put it in and it felt exactly like a tampon. I took out the applicator and did not feel the ovule AT ALL! I was actually a little relieved but still waiting for the extreme burning or itching sensation. I laid in bed for about an hour before falling asleep, wearing a pantiliner incase of leakage, and woke up in the morning still feeling completely normal. Ladies so far my experience with this has been great even after crying about it a little. It does feel a little warm at times and it gets a little sensitive but I slept through the night and am hoping to just go on with my daily routines. If you are scared about this because of the negative reviews and you know what your body can handle, try the applicator with the ointment already inside(although it's EXTREMELY messy). Overall I do recommend this and you never know how you'll react until you try(-:

I had that too and was confused.. I have never had a yeast infection till this past week ...and man I don't ever want this again!! Lol!!
But I did have that concern .. but I got my period and I'm thinking it was spotting ..
It happend to me as well, i only put it in maybe 2 hours ago but i assume my body heat because of the heat from irritation caused it to turn to cream very quickly, now its all just leaking out and its very uncomfortable
Yeast is actually a fungus. If you look on the back of the Monistat box, you can see that the medications you are taking are anti fungals
It sounds like you have a bacterial infection combined with a yeast infection. Try drinking a lot of UNSWEETENED cranberry juice and loads of water to clean out your system. And for the love of god, whenever you are prescribed antibiotics, be sure to take a good pro-biotic at the same time!!! It balances the bacteria in your system. Antibiotics will kill the bacteria, but a lack of balance will cause a yeast infection. In fact, it's probably not a bad idea to take a pro-biotic daily to boost your body's balance. And try to avoid coffee, tomatoes, anything acidic. It will help. But mostly, flush your system with water. I tried the one dose version two days ago and it's helped immensely. Not completely gone, but I"m listening to my body. Also, avoid bubble baths for now or any baths with bath salts! Try a warm bath with baking soda. :-)
It takes about four days. I would say no intercourse until then because the medicine may not work and cause year infection to worsen
This is the second time I've had a yeast infection and the second time I've used this product. The first time I let the infection go on much too long. I had itching, burning, and a bright red rash. The first time I used this product it did burn! It wasn't the worst pain I've ever felt but it did take self control not to scratch, rub, or wash off the product. I squeezed my husband's hand and made myself wait it out. The second time I am catching the infection much, much earlier and the pain is a 2/10 in comparison to my previous 8/10 experince.
It could effect you either way. Just make sure you have what you need ready for both scenarios.
Thank you! I also got the 1 day treatment. After inserting the ovule, I read a TON of online reviews about painful itching and burning and crying and whatnot. I started to freak out. I had a UTI and am on my third round of oral antibiotics and have had two shots for it. It really isn't going away lol. But anyways, I was expecting this yeast infection. It's my first UTI and first yeast infection, and seeing as how I've been to the ER once and the doctor twice, I didn't want to go again. So I ran to Walgreens and grabbed the 1 day treatment, took it home, did everything it said, AND THEN read the online reviews. Scared myself half to death waiting for these awful symptoms to come. Before using the treatment, I had a light discharge and on and off itching. After using, within an hour or two I started itching more! That's when I got worried and googled. But after wiping off the discharge that was coming out and using the wipe and then the cream, I started to feel better! I got a slight warm feeling down there as well, but nothing painful. I used the treatment about 6 hours ago and I already feel much better. No more itching and just the usual leakage that's expected from the treatment. Super happy with this! But, I do recommend that if you have a sensitive vagina, use the 3 day or even the 7 day treatment! From the reviews I read, the 1 day was just too strong for some women's vaginas and that's why it was so uncomfortable. The one day treatment is a higher, more concentrated dose, which is why it's painful for some women. I hoped this helped!
No a yeast infection is fungal not bacterial
The yeast can spread anywhere in that a including ur bum.... So try taking a bit of the cream n use it in an around that area too it will go away... It worked for me...
Yeast is a fungus, not a bacteria.
This is my second time using this I normally get diffluca. The first time the pain was unbearable that night but when I woke up all was gone and it was as if I never had that horrific experience the night before, I had used ice the night before to stop the burning didn't help as much but my symptoms cleared up within 2 days. I have had to use the product again 1 year later form the initial use and this time I caught it early last night when I insert it it took about an hour to dissolve but when it did boy oh boy did it intensify I was prepared with an ice pack this time and the sensation only lasted an hour then I fell asleep with the ice pack and lived to tell the story today, I have slight itching but all in all I feel relief.
the clumpy discharge is the lotion coming out of you.
