Just thought I would also post an update for everyone still early in the healing process.

I injured my foot June 25th of last year. My injury was not correctly diagnosed until October, had surgery in November. The screw was removed April 4th and though it wasn't as painful as the first, it still was difficult. Now almost two months after hardware removal I just went on my first backpacking trip. It was only a short 14 mile loop in Shenanndoah NP, but it's a positive start. My foot held out pretty good until the second day on the downhills. It has been pretty swollen, and is in mild pain, but nothing too bad. All in all I think it was a good first time back on the trail.

Like MyLeftFoot there is still much I can't do, but this weekend I added one thing back to my "can do" list. Things do eventually start looking up.
