My Alt is 102 and my Asp is 59. I am going on my third month of blood tests. with the results 81/55 92/56 respectively. My doctor wants me to wait another month and a half and then he will talk about maybe a GI referal and ultrasound during my diabetes check up. I got the feeling that they were waiting for me to die so I made an appointment out to June 3 with a GI Dr. The lady on the telephone was pushy and rude and hung up on me before I could get the location of the clinic. I made an appointment with my primary doctor but might break that because he is so busy telling me that I am fine and rushing out the door that I dont get a word in edgewise.  Should I be actually worried by this? I was talking two full strength aspirins a day and mistakingly using  an aspirin based topical liquid improperly at the same time as my blood sugar was shooting up. I felt slightly sick the month But got really sick when I used it then took a shower. I couldn't feel my arms and lost the ability to get hungry and felt sick and off most of the time. Right now I feel aproximately fine except for my eyes which are varying degrees of bloodshot. What should I be saying to doctors if anything to get them to listen?

Hello.. my Alt and Ast tests keep climbing as well.

I made an appt with my Gastro dr for my annual colonoscopy appt. (At age 51 during my first colonoscopy they found pre cancerous polyps which is why I have to go every year for now) During the exam I explained that I was having pain in my upper right side, and my stomach hurt every time I eat. She ran a panel of tests which showed my liver enzymes elevated. For two months, every two weeks I have to go get my blood drawn. They have continued to climb.  I do NOT drink, and I have never done drugs.

In Nov of 2014 they found gallstones during an ultra sound. ( one big one, several small ones). I was told to get a Hida Scan which I put off. I finally did it, and it shows I DO have gallstones. Since my enzymes keep climbing, my dr has since sent me for a MRCP (nuclear test) to make sure my gallstones are not blocking a bile duct. The MRCP came back that my liver, pancreas are working fine. Since my levels are still gradually climbing, she is wanting to do a liver biopsy. Apparently I also have an enlarged spleen.

I have been googling research to find out what possibly could be going on. I do have Hoshimoto's thyroiditis (an Autoimmune disease which renders my thryoid useless).  I am very shocked to find many people with Thyroid issues, have spleen, liver issues. My doctor has stated I could have Auto Immune Hepatitis in the early stages. This is not a contagious form of Hepatitis, it's caused by my body attacking the liver.

One thing my doctor made clear, when your liver enzymes are showing elevation in your blood it means that your liver is damaged or diseased. Do Not waste time in making a gastro appt. Everything I've researched says early detection of liver issues is HUGE in recovering.

TELL your doctor, (do not ask) that you would like a referral to a gastro dr. You have diabetes which is an autoimmune disease...do not compromise your health because your dr is stubborn. If you demand a referral, he/she should give you one.

Keep me posted and let me know how you are doing! :)

I got an appointment with a my doctor june 2nd and a gastro june 3rd. The call center person was so upset that I asked for a gastro that she hung up the phone on me as I was asking her for directions. I talked to my other doctor and he said he couldn't get me in any quicker in his system either. I have been feeling better rather recently but it doesn't take much for me to have a relapse and start feeling sick again

No its Park Nicollet. Apparently they rotate front desk people to answer the phones. She seemed rather adamant that I go through my doctor who didn't want to see me til June anyway and when I went ahead to scedule the appointment she said "are we done?" I tried to ask where the place was but she hung up.

Another think is weird is my blood pressure is around 95/66 and that is abnormal for me but its supposed to be good I guess.

I'd def want to find out who she was as well. There is no need for that kind of rudeness
