My husband smoked pot for 35*+ years he quit 3 weeks ago. Some symptoms are night mares unable to sleep, he feels tired a lot of the time. He also says he feels as if he has low blood sugar even though he just ate. Are these normal symptom and how long will he have them

Classic withdrawal symptoms. In my experience the length of time that one experiences withdrawal symptoms is based on the time a person has been smoking cannabis consecutively, the amount of cannabis smoked, the strength and the person's bodyfat.

I think the worst I had was about a 2 week withdrawal period with the symptoms described, and additional ones like diarhea, bloatedness, nausea, depression, anxiety, shivers, more sweating. Seeing as I have smoked for 5 years on and off with months of breaks. I have had a chance to see it variying from a couple of days to 2 weeks.

In your husbands case I would expect him to gradually feel normal again quite soon. That beeing said cannabis has been found in people´s urine tests 3 months after quitting. Theoretically I suppose he could have withdrawals up to the point when to when cannabis is completely gone from the system.
