Regardless an addict cannot help relapse. It's not just his mind he has to fight it's every inch of his body that makes him feel that horrible he would prefer not to live then fight that feeling a second longer. But he is trying and trying for you! So you should try support him instead of threatening him which is honestly making the situation worse. Good luck. I promise support instead of threat and you will be set :)!

I know this is a old thread but I'd like to chime in. I have been taking Suboxone as prescribed for 6 years. My wife and I have had two very healthy children in that span of time. That said, I don't know of any scientific studies of how the med may or may not affect semen. My hunch is, though, that baby's health depends more on the health of the mother. My wife is and always has been healthy and never abused any medication ever.

My husband and I are both on suboxone 8/2 two times a day and we too havr been trying to concive but we havent been having any luck either. I have a 4 year old that I had gotten pregnant with while on suboxone and I had no problems conciving him. But his father my ex, wasnt on suboxone when we got pregnant. Sense we both take suboxone is it making it harder for us to grt pregnant? Please, I need answers!  I need answers asap. Thanks!

My husband and I are both on suboxone 8/2 two times a day and were trying to get pregnant but have been having no luck. Can both of us talking suboxone make it harder for us to concive? I got pregnant with my four year old while I was on suboxone before but my sobs father never been on suboxone. My husband and I are trying to get answers asap. Idk if its him, or me or both of us. I didn't have a problem getting pregnant with my 4 year old but seem to be having problems now. Is it possible bc my husband and I are both on suboxone? Please let me know ASAP!

I can tell you this much as a father that takes subs everyday to remain off narcotic pain pills so I can provide and live a productive life. That is much better than not having a father at all addictin is a diseas, so if your husband had cancer and it went in to remission and it came back would you leave him then? Hope you understand do not know your situation but I bet I speak for 99 of all addicts when I say I would take a shot to get rid of the urges if it would work. Should you be happy when he relapses? Absolutely not but you should support him and encourage the father of yiur child to be the best he can be.

I've been taking suboxone a year and a half now! And most times when I ejaculate, nothing comes out! I use to have loads of semen being produced, now there's nothing!

I was looking through a thread like this asking the same question two years ago. Just wanted to return the favor in case anyone is still wondering if a male on suboxone's sperm negatively effects a baby being conceived or born. I can't give medical advice but from my experience my wife gave birth to a healthy baby girl. Just wanted to ease the mind of anyone worrying.
