I am in the same boat, also having 1 - 1.5 day periods which are heavy the first day then just spotting the next day to day and a half, my cycle length stayed the same. I am also a 32 year old female and no kids so sounds like maybe we are fine, although I was pretty worried since this has only been happening for the last 3 months, before that I had regular 3-4 day periods.

It's quite normal for a women's cycle to change over time. There are so many factors that can contribute to a change in your cycle. Think about any recent changes in diet, exercise, stress levels or life style. I once had a very regular period every 30 days that would last 5 days.. Over the past 6 months I have made changes to my exercise routine but also have a very stressful and busy lifestyle. My cycle has changed so much that my period only lasts a day and I am generally not sure which day of the month it will come. Your diet and exercise practices can affect your period. "If you're working out a lot in the gym or not eating enough, your body will assume you're not fit to carry a pregnancy. Your estrogen levels may drop, and you may stop ovulating which of course affects your period. Over exercising also may put too much stress on the body to produce the regular hormones it needs to complete a cycle. Being too thin can make you skip periods since your body doesn't think you are healthy enough for childbearing, but being overweight can be a problem as well. If you're overweight, excessive estrogen can build up in the body, causing periods to be heavy and sometimes irregular. When we are stressed or have high anxiety levels, the cortisol released by our adrenal glands is affected. This abnormal release of cortisol can impact our hormones which then affects our cycle. Menstruation is not vital to occur in order for our bodies to survive. The main point of menstruation is to reproduce. When we exercise, our bodies go into a survival mode and may shut down unnecessary functions in the body(menstruation) to save energy to keep our bodies going in it’s current condition. It holds on to every bit of energy it can in order to allow vital functions to work properly.

I just scheduled an appt with my gyno. My periods are 1-1 1/2 days. That includes my brown blood. I am 37 and I have 2 kids, 15 & 7. Back in Sept my gyno said everything looked fine and not to worry about menopause any time soon. I have been off birth control for 4 yrs cuz it was causing cysts in my breasts. I have not had my usual 7-8 days for 7 months now. I thought I may be preg, I did have a normal-heavy period for 3 months with my oldest, but I've had 3 neg tests now.I guess, to a point, I am glad that others are going thru this as well. Good luck to y'all!

I have had the same issue with one day periods. My cycles are longer 40-50 days and only last for one day. I was just diagnosed with PCOS and have been told that things may get better if I lose weight. I didn't think it would be possible to get pregnant with my issues and my husband was told he had a low sperm count, but I lost 40 pounds and ended up pregnant. My feeling is this is just how my body responds to PCOS and the hormone shifts with weight gain. Im working with an endocrinologist to hopefully help. I just thought I would share what has happened in my case. :)

Same here! My period has always been 1 day of bleeding and then tapers off the 2nd. I asked my doctor about this as well and says I'm lucky to have such light periods. It's not heavy either. Of course I'm not complaining but I also think its strange. I'm 25, single, and not sexually active so I have never been on birth control.

I am 33 and mine lasts maybe a day. Great to hear from you all as obviously I was concerned enough to bring google it and get to this chat. Now that I know it's ok, I am feeling quite lucky :-D.

i have the same issue of a full 24 hour period however, i dont get it at nights at all. i dont get any cramps but i get very cranky about 2 weeks before my period. the day my period comes nothing bothers me. im regular to the point where it comes 2 days before or after the date of my last period. on birth control i get it for a few hours, off birth control its 24 hours. im 26 no children. i have been having it this way for as long as i remember. i do not get it heavy either, its very lite where i pretty much use a thick panty liner. i rarely am able to full a pad or tampon. im worried that this might cause infertility at some point. i havent brought this up to my Doc as yet. any advise would be great.

Thank You

:-)

Hello all! I am only 14 years old and I have been getting periods for one year now and they were normal for about six months and then they started getting shorter and shorter and now they last only about 1-1 1/2 days maximum. I am not on any type of birth control and I am not sexually active and I didn't know if this was normal. I will also not have me periods some months and my most recent one was only one day and it came 2 weeks later than I expected it. Is everything all right or should I talk to a doctor about my unusual happenings?

Hello everyone. I'm actually in the same boat , and I intent to get a little worried. I'm 28 years old and this is the first time this happens to me. I actually started with really bad cramps just like on every menstrual cycle (I'm regular 3 to 4 days) and for some reason I only lasted 1 day (1 day and a half to be exact) blood was pink or even no blood on my tampon. I still have really bad cramps. I don't take any birth control and I have no kids. Are any of you ladies have experience this before ? Should I be worried ??
