My period is really weird sometimes. Sometimes it can last for a week and sometimes it's only a day. When it's only a day it's really heavy and even though I'm not actively bleeding afterwards, there is some residual spotting. I get worried, especially since my period isn't normally very regular anyway (I sometimes skip a month, then have a one-day period the next month, and then the next month after that have a normal week-long period) and I'm beginning to get slightly worried.
hi i'm a 20yr old (soon to be 21) and i've had the same problem my last 3 periods. mine usually last 3-4days with the 1st being a decently heavy flow and then lessinging by day 2 and by day 4 spotting. i'm usually on a 28-30 day cycle until i started having sex then it got all messed up and since then (oct 2009) ive been irregular and i can start earlier now but not by much maybe a day or two. if i'm early i never cramp but if i reach that 30 day mark i have horrible cramps. well these last three have been odd the frist 2 were a week early and i had really bad cramps and the blood was a brownish color and kinda mucasy but this time (i started today actually) i'm right on time (day 28) but it's the same as the last two, very little blood w/ same color and consistancy. they have lasted 1 1/2 days...when this first happened i was terrified that i could've been pregnant because it was 2 weeks after i had had sex and we didnt use a condom and we didnt the last few times either and i'm not on the pill at all. i took a home test and it said negative but i'm still scared i guess because of my age and being in school and all. but as i read all of you posts i feel somewhat better because i see many are having problems and i was kinda worried at first beause most of you were saying you were in your 30's so it scared me that something might be wrong with me but them i saw a poat from a 19 yr old and i feel better
hi. just stumbled across this sightwhilst wanting to know more about 1 day cycle. well thats me. 37 yr old with 3 children.after suffering for a number of years with really heavy periods....10 days maybe more every fortnight, after numerous tests which came back all normal...i mean is that normal....my gynie suggested i had an m.a e to thin the lining of my womb september of last year. i am now having a one day bleed, which is great but would like to know, does anyone else have the symptoms of 'gonna come on'...i have this now constantly, and feel as if i need a proper bleed. :'( help!!!!
I am 42 and have had regular periods for a long time. Just recently they have started to get shorter, 1 day. I used to have 3 or 4 day periods. I have never been on birth control and have never had kids, anyone know if this is a sign of pre menopause? Or just a changing cycle?

I worry every month that I could be pregnant because I am sexually active but I use protection. This has been going on for about three months for every monthly period I get it ends up being for one day. I don't have any pregnancy symptoms but it still concerns me that I only get my period one day of every month. I am going to pick up a pregnancy test just to be sure so I don't have to worry anymore, after all this just could be stress and my worries building up making this all happen. I am glad I am not the only one dealing with this issue. I will get back to you all if I have any more info :-)

Hi Im am also in the same situation. It has been over a year now since my periods started to last about 1- 1 1/2 days. Im a 28 yr old with no children, and not using any kind of birth control. I think it started after I had my miscarriage. I thought there was something wrong with me. I started getting worried about my fertility too. So does anyone know what causes it??? If anyone has any knowledge I would appreciate it.
me and my girlfriend are still virgins but one night we got a little wild. i pulled her pants down and my penis was touching her butt. but i did not ejaculate. and she said that she even felt it on her vagina. awhile before, she gave me head and i cleaned it up and made sure there was nothing on the tip anymore and i washed my hands. we did this on a monday and she had her period on wednesday. but the thing is that it only lasted 2 days and it was light.

I used to be on depo (the shot), quit (had a 3-MONTH long period, mostly light), and after meeting someone, I started taking the pill.
Before the pill I had a 5 day period heavy enough to keep me from school the first two days, but just this week I had a 3day period that wasn't all that heavy during the fist two days. Being a girl that has way to much to run around and do, this is awesome :-D ! It even means less chance I'll be bleeding when I get to see my fiance. He goes to another school and I don't get to see him alot during the scool year.

I always felt tired and sleepy, couldn't really concentrate on anything and was forgetful. I recently went to my doctor and got a blood test done, turns out my hormones are messed, I have a really low level of thyroid (Hypothyroidism) hence the weight gain and all the other symptoms that all make sense to me. The medication that I have been put on has affected my period or so I believe or it could just be the low thyroid. Anyways, just thought I should put this out there so maybe some of you should go get your blood tested and find out if you have imbalance hormones.

I am 37 and I too just stopped taking the pill about 5 months ago and ever since my periods are about 1 1/2 days and sometimes will have spotting. What pill was everyone on? I took ortho and yaz. Just wondering if it was the kind of birth control we were on. I get super angry about a week prior..also wondering how long everyone was on the pill...I took mine for 8 years.
Yes it is possible to be pregnant. My sister just found out she was pregnant. She had a 2 day period last week which she said seemed normal except for it being so short. She still had sore breasts a week after that so she took an hpt which came back positive so it is possible but u need to take a test to know for sure. ***edited by moderator*** web addresses not allowed
