Hey negative "Guest," easy to judge the commentators when you clearly haven't been frustrated to death by an old person. If the elderly were as reasonable as you describe, this thread wouldn't exist.
My Mom has too! she was so cool when I was a kid and teenager and now she has gotton so bipolar and yells at me for not calling her when im calling her. Shes super gossipy about all kinds of relatives that I do not wish to know about their business. And I feel like it takes all kinds of mental energy out of me to have a phone call with her. Ive been married for 23 years and have grown kids and she calls me up yelling about them not calling her. She has become very negative and emotional and i do not want all that drama in my life. Of course i love her very much but i dread when i do have to call her because she keeps me on the phone for 3 hours telling me about doctors and others peoples business it drives me crazy. And she doesnt even listen to me when I talk. Most of the time i just sit there and listen to all her doctor stuff then i got my wife going to 10 different doctors on top of that. I dont even go to my own doctors to take care of my stuff because im too busy listening to everyone elses stuff. If she does listen to me i can feel its only for her to spread that information to other family members some times i just make up weird drama so she can gossip about me because thats what makes her happy. My brother moved her all the way across town so its very inconvenient for me to visit with her unless i want to be in traffic all day. So she complains about that.
"Religion" is something even Jesus was against, a bunch of rules that were pushed onto others but not adhered to by themselves. The person you are talking to that seems religious is more than likely not religious but a "believer" in righteousness which encompasses doing what is right in God's Word. This is a lifestyle, not religion.

My husband and I live with our in-laws and my father in-law runs to the kitchen when I come down stairs and everyday he says to me what's the news of the day, I live in my bedroom I don't have any news, I hide from them , they drive me crazy. We have to keep everything in our room, were allowed two shelves in the cupboard but she has the whole pantry for her old moth ridden food. They usually go to Alabama for the winter but their 83 can't go anymore and we help them out. They try to put us to work everyday even on Sundays. My brother In-law lives here in the winter when he gets laid off and he sneaks out of the house every morning. It's their way or the highway wouldn't you would think that they would be treating us better because we could put them in a nursing home but they don't want to go in one.They are very controlling people. I'm at the point where I'm ready to leave my husband. I can't take it anymore. They listen to my phone conversations, throw things in my face for ex. I didn't get my xmas cards out when she thought I should. I am a afternoon person I clean at night and she says I'm not normal and that I should get up in the morning and do it. I can't stand them. I can't wait for them to die !

You deserve to get banned from this forum for saying that; he was just trying to help.
You're treating him like another race, and telling him his race is stupid. That's racist af, which is why you sound like some white kid that has no love for anything. Instead of telling him his religion doesn't belong anywhere, at least recognize it and respect him for what he beleives.

I don't see my mum that often as we live in different cities, but I have definitely noticed a change in her personality. My mum has always been critical of me but now she is extremely critical, puts me down a lot & now goes on these big rants about my hubby & kids, which really upsets me. So I keep my distance for a reason. I really wish I could talk to my mum, but she never listens to me only my sister. We get treated so differently, it just saddens me so much , sometimes I really don't know who this lady is anymore. When I have mentioned to my mum why she treats me so different to my younger sister she says it's cause I'm weak & my sister is strong & works so hard. I also work hard but now often feel like a complete stranger around my mum.
