Hi,
I had my rhinoplasty done 1 month ago and the features do refine dramatically between about week 2 and 4 and then continue doing so. I saw a big difference. I am reasonably happy with my nose now, just waiting for some subtle swelling to dissapear under my eyes and also a small amount either side of my chin.
I still look a bit odd - my nose is kind of wider and flatter, the whole length, than I want (a bit 'lion' like) but if the improvements keep coming at this rate, I think I will be happy 2 months in. Don't get scared when you hear people say it can take up to a year for swelling to go. What they mean is that nearly all swelling goes in about the first couple of months and then perhaps the last 10% can take that long. People do vary and if you have a lot of swelling after a few months, speak to your doc because they can reassure you this is not what you will end up looking like.
We all need to remember that there is bound to be temporary swelling and of course it is going to make us look awful for a while.
A final word of comfort. I sat with my 5 y/old boy one day looking at before and after photos. In every single photo he selected the after shot as looking more pretty. Out of the mouths of babes. Very rarely indeed would a person look worse than they did before, 6 months post op. I have never seen one that did.
All the best :-)
