My sister has 1.5 mm melanoma, will she be ok?

My sister first complained about a growing mole that she had a month or so ago, and yesterday she found out the devastating news, that what she has is in fact a 1.5 mm melanoma. I know this is a serious form of skin cancer, but it can be treated successfully, right? Please tell me my sister is going to be OK?
