My sister is 16 and pregant with her 1st child. She has kidney problems and also has spinabifida... She is just now 5 months along, she just started spotting and having stomach cramps last night. We called her doctor and he said that this was complety normal. But this morning we noticed that she had clots in her blood. I've been on several of these sites and all of them say that Cramping, Bleeding, and Tissue coming from inside the vigina, are all signs of a misscarage. We called her doctor yet again today and he has not yet gotten back in contact with us. We need to know what to do from here, and what is the best way to keep her and the baby safe!!
If i were you, i would find another Doctor. Any Doctor that dismisses bleeding and clotting from a pregnant women, without even a look see, should be given their walking papers.
Your post subject header says she is 5 weeks, but the body of your post says she is 5 months. If she is 5 weeks, she could be starting a miscarraige. Don't wait for the Doctor, take her the ER. They will do an internal exam on her to see if her cervix is opening at all. Try to retrieve some of the contents that she has expelled and bring it with you to the hospital, they will test it. They will probably also do an ultrasound to see if the pregnancy is still viable.
