I personally get cramps while my food is going down my throat and by the time it gets to my stomach, my temperature rises and I just want to throw it all back up. When I wake up in the morning, I feel tired and I get heart burn. I think I only use the toilet to evacuate about twice a week. Been to doctors and they have not helped me yet.

Wow, reading your post is like reading about me, I have done all that you have, including a laparoscopy, I became lactose intolerant too, anything gets me bloated, chewing on fresh mint and basil helps get the bloating down, my doctor keeps telling me is IBS but bentyl doesn't help now due to the bloating I have Gerd, my stomach over produces acid. I am miserable so tired of dealing with this for years and keeps getting worse. I am thinking of going to TJ Mexico to see a doctor there. Hopefully I may be able to find out what is wrong with me. I was treated with antibiotics on different occasions for long periods, I wonder if that was the cause. I hope one of us can find the culprit and share with the rest of us.

The same happens to me. I absolutely hate it, the doctors can't figure anything out for me, I've had it for over a year and they have only just referred me to hospital. Let me know if you find an answer to this! Good luck! X

I read through all the posts and none of them mentioned gut bacteria imbalance. I have seen a food allergst and a gastroenterologist, who performed a endoscopy, and both told me there is nothing that should cause my constant bloat. So I set out to solve it myself.

After endless research Ive figured out that Ive killed off most/all my good gut bacteria and let the bad ones take over by the overuse of antibiotics and birth control pills. Now I know I brought this on myself and I alone have to fix it as Drs generally dont want to treat you with something you can buy over the counter. Wheres the money in that for them and their Pharma cronies?

If any of you reading this are reacting to every bite of food with gas and bloating, run dont walk to the store and get you a good probiotic supplement. Forget about the yogurt OK? I personally suggest Pearls as they make it through your stomach and into your small intestine without being destroyed by stomach acid first. You need them in your intestine to work their magic! Do not expect overnight results although you will notice some changes the first week--bowel movement changes, mainly.

It can take a good 3-4 months to rebalance your gut flora. I urge you to read up on this subject. Almost 80% of our immune system is in our gut! Once you know this, you realize this is your gut "talking" to you and telling you something is wrong! You may want to consider using probiotics for the rest of your life; its worth doing so you have a flat stomach to present to the world instead of strangers asking if youre pregnant :(

As far as foods with probiotics, they are added to buttermilk and  sauerkraut and kefir contain them. You can make your own kefir to save money---google for instructions. Good luck to all of you and heres to our good health!!

My stomach boats when I eat and it doesn't matter what I eat. It started after I had a rotten tooth that was infected. Got the tooth pulled and the symptoms went away for about a year, now it's back. Should I go to a dentist or eat more yogurt to replenish the intestinal flora? or what?

Like many posts I too suffered with this for 26 years and went to several doctors over the years that never helped or identified what was going on. At 16 I had one doctor tell my mother I was pregnant. He took one look at my stomach and of course it looked like it. That was uwful, I couldn't even believe I heard that! I would always look pregnant after I ate. I finally met an owner of a health food store that educated me on enzymes, Wow! I wasn't producing enough enzymes so now I take enzymes and probiotics. Everyone should be on enzymes and probiotics. As we age we loose the enzymes that help breakdown the food.
