What are the best exercises for overall body improvement? I am not that interested in body building, even though I have to admit I find it fascinating, I would like to do something that will also build up my stamina and shape. Also, how much time will I need to spend in a week before some effects are shown? How much months will it take? I really need input about working out.
It all depends on you. If you want effects to be shown fast, you have to be disciplined and practice almost every day. Combine that with strict diets and you will have great progress within couple of months and within 6 months you could completely change your body's physionomy. As for type of exercise, you sound to me like a triathlon type. Swimming, running and bicycle I call them holy trinity of good shape. Even if you do not engage extremely seriously in those three, you will still shape your body and be in an excellent condition. Although you will have to practice at least four time a week (2 hours per day). But I think you will manage that.
