Hi my name is ruth and was diagnosed with a slipped disk. I also aquired strep throat in this process. I went on penicillin and finished my dose. Now it seems to be coming back again. I was wondering if they are in combination with each other. One causing the other
I am 33 years old. After finding that I needed a abdominal wall tumor removed during my second pregnancy, I had a c-section and after has been a downward spiral. I was treated for a uterus infection after birth and since have had reoccurring vaginal issues, herniated disc, sciatica, lumbar sacral disc disease and on. Recently, I had symptoms treated with Amoxicillin for flu like issues but infection. Upon calling back for my lab results I was told I tested positive for group b strep. This all is linking together now. I have new knee issues, shoulder blade etc. I am a healthy eater and active person, I do yoga daily. I am wondering ifthe real cause this whole time has been the Strep B and I am just getting worse. My son is now five.
I have been thru months of problems that all link to the positive strept a, hives, severe joint pain, whole body inflammation, bumps that look like chicken pox, rashes, now I am told I have a slightly herniated disk in my neck causing the loss of range of motion, inflammation into the skull and back of head and pain behind the eyes. they also said I have sinus polyps. I feel strongly this is related to the strept though the blood work is showing 100 where over 200 is supposed to be of concerned. now, after 2 shots & 2 courses of antibiotics, I have been put on 14 days augmentin & anti-inflamatory - I feel it is time for an infectious disease doc to check-out if strept is hiding in the csf....
I have a very good rhumatologist and he has suggested that I consider botox for my periformis (sp) issues. Very uncomfortable, no road trips and ready to retire. Have you heard of this. I also have several autoimmune diseases, ie. celiacs, dry eyes, sjorgheens (sp) and bouchards on my thumbs. I think that is the beginng of rhumatoid. I'm very interested in your thoughts on sciatica and herniated discs. I supposedly have bulged discs. I already have rods and screws from spinal stenosis (surgery done in 2010). Last year I had my first epidurals from numbness in my feet and legs supposedly caused by the swelling of the discs. The shots helped for a year but oh, the side effects of the cortizone chills me to this day. The same symptms have started again. Your thoughts apprciated.
