Hi...Look up Pyroluria and how to treat it with high doses of Zinc and B6, to see if you have other symptoms of stress and anxiety which are all related. Eliminating the nervous rash might be a pleasant side effect!!

Hey guys,
i get this to.
it comes in patches, which annoys me the most. sometimes i get it on one side of my face, but not the other, people have pointed it out, but i am beginning not to care.
This rash is not who i am, and when people look at me, i don't think they are going to see the rash instead of Natalie.
I try to just look past it, that can help it to go away, when i don't worry about it.
Hope i helped
Natalie

Hi there,

I too have this rash problem. Whenever i am excited , nervous, or do something suddenly, surprised, i get this. It has been on from 2 years for now. But previous summer i recognised something, that whenever there aren't enough people around me or whenever i dont seem to care about , i dont get this rash at all. The previous summer i worked outside in a field as part time in LSU for 6 straight hours on a day. i didnt get any rash. But now, since university has started again, i am again starting to get this rash. Generally this used to happen on my arms. But now over a year, it happens on my upper legs, a little here and there over my body, chest, and on my neck a little bit. is there anything i can try, or do u suggest i go see a doctor.

Thank you all

That is very unusual! I think that if this is an issue for you (and it sounds like it is!) then you should consider going to a dermatologist. Have oyu been to one yet?

No i havent been to one

i didnt think this was a problem because i never really cared.

But one day i googled it and found this page and from then on i became more self conscious and started getting this

generally even when i am nervous and do all stuff inside my house or under a closed roof or something, i dont get it
but when i am outside in sun, doing stuff like getting nervous and uncomfortable and stuff, i get it

Also, I do play a lot of outdoor sports like cricket and soccer and basketball and tennis. I do get a little on my arms and stuff but never much because i dont care about that while i play.

I go to the rec center daily and i see lot of good looking girls and stuff and i dont get excited and stuff, then i dont get any rash, but when the same thing happens on campus while i am walking outside in hot sun, i get rash. I guess this is a psychological problem.

I GOT A FEELING THAT I GET THIS RASH PROBLEM MORE , WHENEVER I GET SELF-CONSCIOUS AND THINK THAT SOMEBODY IS JUDGING ME ALL THE TIME WHEN I AM ON CAMPUS OR WHENEVER I AM AROUND PEOPLE OUTSIDE IN SUN.

There is also such a thing as an allergy to the sun so that's something for you to bear in mind and to look out for. Do you think that also might be a possibility? Had you heard of that before?

yeah, i have heard of that before after i started getting this rashes, but i am actually from India, I lived 20 years in india and i have been living here in Louisisna from past 4 to 5 years and i never had any problem of this kind. This problem started like 1 or 1 and half years ago. See, India is such a place where in Summer u have to live in 110 to 120 degrees temperature. I also used to play a lot of outdoor games there. I used to sweat a lot , but never anything of this kind. Also here , when the weather is cool , like today the weather was like 72 or 75 degree with sun out and low UV stuff, and it was cool outside. I went out played for 3 hours and i didnt get any rash because i was busy planning some game stuff and never really thought of it. So i didnt get it.

I cant get rid of my nervous rash but if i know ill be in a situation where it will happen, if im going to a party or stressful situation, ill put mineral foundation on my neck and if i get the rash you cant see it or the makeup. I also dont get the rash usually with the makeup on as i feel more confident that i wont get it, so i dont stress as much.. hence no rash.

i have also been suffering with the same problem for 4 years. When i am in a situation that i am uncomfortable with or when i get angry or nervous, i break out in the hivey red rash on my chest and neck. it is horrible!!

however, my doctor let me try a beta blocked known as propronolol. I take 20 mg once a day and it is cured. it has literally changed my life. PLEASE talk to your doctor about trying it. I have no more blotches!!! IT IS A MIRACLE CURE!!

It works by blocking some of the adrenaline that causes an overactive response in the fight or flight part of our bodies.

Hello to Everyone who suffers like me from this annoying embarrasing rash.
I first noticed my rash about 11 years ago when I was pregnant with my first child. Over the years I noticed that this rash can come out when my anxiety is bothering me, when Im hot, embarrased, excited, stressed, drinking alcohol or drink anything high in caffine. And believe it or not sometimes it will happen for no reason at all! My neck, chest and top of my arms get every red and blochy in patches. This has caused me to become a social avoidant (which really hurts because I like people). I am pleged to wearing turtle neck in the winter or nothing lower then a regular crew neck t shirt in the summer (only because a turtle neck is to hot!). When im out in public Im constantly worring that it will be there. I will constantly check any mirror to see if its there... I think this has became a OCD now with me. When it is there I usually run my air conditioning or point a cool fan on it and it will fade slowly. I though that this was something that I would have to deal with the rest of my life until a couple of weeks ago.
I purchased some 550 mg Kelp powder tablets for my thyroid and to my surprise the kelp has completely taken my rash away.... I am crossing my fingers that it will stay that way. I feel so much better now and my confidence is starting to come back! I no longer avoid the chance to go out in public.... I sure hope that this natural remedy can help some of you how are hurting and looking for help like I was!

I am 20yrs old i have been getting this rash on a daily basis for the last 3 years. The first 2 times i went to the doctors i was told to take anti-histamines other than that there was nothing they could do it was just one of those things, I tried taking them but didnt notice a difference. However on my last visit to the doctors i was given some real advice. There are a few options you can try; counselling is one of the most important, there are no 'cures' for it as it's all in the mind. Talking to a professional about why you get so nervous and ways you are able to control your thoughts will help to reduce the frequency of the attacks. A second option is anti-depressants. The majority of people who suffer from this, like me, are not depressed, but anti-depressants can help with anxiety and many other stress related illnesses. This needs to be looked into thoroughly and dicussed with your doctor to make sure it's right for you. For most going on such a 'hard-core' type of medication is scary and so some herbal alternatives are available. St. John's Wort can be bought from most supermarkets and isnt expensive. I have only been on it for a couple of days now but have already noticed a huge difference, some herbal medication can take weeks to work, but i am feeling positive.

A tip: when you go to your doctors tell them how it really makes you feel. Dont just say i get this rash when im nervous, what can you do? Tell them of the many situations you face daily that sets it off, tell them how it affects you and tell them how much better you would feel without it (show some emotion and they seem much more inclined to help)

Good Luck!

Hi Briana, for your wedding ask your doctor to prescribe a beta blocker, such as Inderal. Take it a couple of hours before the main event and you won't get the rash. I wouldn't suggest doing this all the time but 20mgs or so will do the trick...you might feel a little tired from the drug but it will pass after a day.
