I had the norplant implanted in my left arm in September of 1995 after the birth of my child. 7 years later I went to planned parent hood to have it removed and receive another form of birth control. the doctor there told me it was fine and didn't need to be removed as long as I understood it wasn't working anymore. January 2017 I finally had all six rods removed and 5 of them were still half full and one was empty. Hypothetically speaking this birth control was to stop working after 5 years but I didn't have a period for 7 years. now 22 years after these were implanted in my arm my husband and I are trying to get pregnant. We have been trying for 3 years now but are hopeful that now the implants are out that I will be able to conceive. I am ovulating and was ovulating while on the norplant, I will update if we are able to get pregnant.

After I removed Norplant, my uterus lining got destroyed, less than a quarter size for eggs to stick to! So frustrated for so many years! Never remove Norplant, you couldn't get pregnant.

I had a norplant for five years, removed it 3 years ago, and still not getting pregnant. I was trying all that time. What should I do?
