am 17 & i have still not started to get periods..whats the reason??
You should go to the doctors to get checked out I've heard that if you don't get periods it's because you don't ovulate.

Your period could be related to your weight.  Women start their period when their body reaches a certain weight and fat level.  This signals that the body is ready and able to sustain a pregnancy (a woman without fat reserves cannot support a pregnancy).  If you are of slight build, your period will come later than other girls. Many girls who play sports a lot and have low body fat will not get their period until they quit their sport. If you are under-weight and suffering from a weight problem - such as bulimia or anorexia - get this under control and you will most probably find your period will come. If your weight is not a problem, ask your mother and/or sisters when they started their period.  It may be genetic.  If by 18 years old you haven't started and your weight and diet is fine, see a doctor for testing.  Otherwise chill out and don't worry - many girls would LOVE to not have a period. Please remember however that it is possible to fall pregnant BEFORE your first period.  You will ovulate and if the egg is not fertilized, you will bleed for the first time.  Therefore it is possible to fall pregnant and never have a period.  So please practice safe sex no matter what because you dont know when you may ovulate and start your period.
