Hi. I was diagnosed with bone spurs. My sister tells me I should have a surgery to remove them, but I am not so sure. I feel no pain at all. She said some complications may occur if I don`t remove bone spurs. Now what to do? What are my options?
Hi. I suffer from bone spurs and most people feel no pain at all, for many years. If you have no pains, the treatment is not necessary. However, if you experience pain you may be prescribed with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Bone spurs can break off and prevent you from moving your joints. Bone spurs may be removed arthroscopically. They can also be removed in an open procedure, on as a part of surgery for arthritis. However, if you feel no pain and if you can move your joints, the treatment is not needed.
