I'm a 20 year female with no personal history of abdominal or 'gas' problems. But, the other day as I was taking a shower, I felt a sharp pain just above my belly button. I couldn't move for about 10 seconds and, finally, when it went away, I pushed on the spot which hurt only to the touch. After about a minute the pain went away completely. I figured it was gas, but my bowel movements were fine this day (I even took a laxative to help) but the pain came back once more. Then I thought maybe it was because I ate too much in one sitting so, at dinner time, I only had soup. But when I got home later on, my stomach was completely bloated (which only happens the week before my period & I'm not supposed to get it for another 2.5 weeks). Even when I tried sucky in, it didn't move, but the pain came back. This time it felt more like gas pains so I went to the bathroom and had a regular movement. My stomach was still bloated and the pain was still there. I just decided to lay down and after a few minutes it went away.

Can anyone help me and let me know what this might be? I know I'm not pregnant because, two days before the pain came on, I went to gynocologist for a check up and she confirmed I was not. Other than that, and gas pains, I have no clue as to what the problem could be. Thanks.
I know a few people who have this same issue. Have you had any surgeries of any sort near your stomach?

This kind of pain definitely wouldn’t have to do anything with pregnancy, you’re right about that. It sounds to me like the problem is related to your small intestine and those kinds of problems usually do spread to bowels. Have you eaten anything out of the ordinary last few days? Maybe some food “fell” hard on your stomach and you still have troubles digesting it. Try drinking acidophilic milk or yogurt and definitely ask your pharmacist for some probiotic supplement. They should help to restore balance in your intestines more quickly.
