Before one week ,i change my old four crowns with a new ones. Can not eat until now any cold food and sometimes i have pain .Is this normal? Thank you.

Hello T, AND, T,

It's not uncommon to have cold sensitivity when crowns have been put on.  Sometimes, the crowns are are placed a little too high on your teeth.  Your dentist can adjust this for you and that should make all the difference in hot/cold sensitivity.  If any of your teeth under the crown are cracked, that will allow cold to penetrate and hit your nerves.  this is very painful.  In the case of crack, you'll probably need a root canal done.  If you have permanent crowns, the dentist will have to remove it or drill through it.  You do mention that you can eat food now without sensitivity so maybe everything is okay.

I had 2 crowns put in about 2 weeks ago, and sometimes I get pain when I touch the left side just above my nostrils, and then I feel the sensitivity on the crowns that were put in. Is this normal?
