Thank you for this post! I had 2 bone spurs removed from the top of my big toe, a small bunion and a pin put in to straighten it 4 months ago. I still have discomfort when walking and now the opposite side of my foot is swelling and hurting worse than my toe. I'm so hoping this all resolves within time. Your post is encouraging:)

I had minimally invasive bilateral bunion surgery 6mths ago and still in pain and cant wear anything but joggers. No not even thongs. If i put shoes on, my feet swell up within an hour. My feet are still painful and burn at night. Im so worried I'll never be able to wear shoes again. The soles of my feet also feel there is no padding left underneath. I had hoped to wear nice strappy shoes :(

hi can you give an update about your foot pain? I'm almost 3 months post op and in pain. was supposed to be done with foot doc but I went back pain in arch and near ankle where a tibia ligament runs. He said tendonitis, ice and take anti inflamatories and use and arch. I have and I am still in pain and also afraid this is permanent. I didn't have this before surgery either and he seems to have not much to say about anything. I'm starting a job at a library where I will be standing and I don't know how I'm going to survive

Hi Maz, I’m in the same boat, after 4 months; minimally invasive surgery, too. How are you after a further 7 months, when you wrote this? I feel I have no padding in the ball of my foot, can only wear trainers and get large blisters if I walk any distance. I cannot put full weight on the ball of my foot. I was recovering okay, initially, but things are worse now. I hope you get to see this post and reply

Had bunion surgery 8 weeks ago. Quite a bit of swelling on my bottom foot (preventing my toe from laying flat or going down all the way). I have physical therapy (PT) twice a week... the pain has decreased significantly in the last 4 weeks. I only feel pain when my foot is raised from the back (imagine doing "calf raises") and I'm pushing my foot onto a hard floor. It gets better!
