Ladies, I have had the same problem.  It happened before, after a bladder infection, but it did get better.  I was told to try Vagifem 10

You put 1 tablet into the vagina every day for two weeks, and then twice weekly. This is estrogen.  I have only just started using it, so I do not know whether it will work or not this time.  Either way anything to try is better than nothing!!  I am 77 and have still enjoyed sex, so I want to get better!!  Good luck everybodyXD

I have the same problem. It stings mostly AFTER I pee. I have had a cystology, pelvic exam and been tested for everythign. Urine is clear. Mine stings more when I drink more water. If It starts to sting adn I stop drinking and let my bladder fill up, one I void from that full bladder, and there is nothign left to continuet to make my bladder expand, it feels better. I can drink dr. Pepper as my main source of beverage with no problem, but when I start to drink a lot of water is when I get teh stingy.

You should do a biopsy around the vulva to see if you have what I have, Lichens Sclerosis, a terrible, incurable skin disease. It could cause burning and pain in the vagina and urinary area. I'm seeing a urologist now to make sure I don't have any thing else causing this same pain and burning everyone else is having.

I don't know if anyone is still on this anymore or has answers for me, but I need help! I've had 3 UTI's in the last year. My urologist gave me a low dose of Bactrim to take after sex. Haven't took it because I can't even get close to sex my urethra burns so bad. My urologist said that it could just be irritated since I've had so many infections and to stay away from caffeine and spicy foods and it's not working. I see her in 3 months and if I'm still burning I need to have a cystoscope which makes me nervous a little. I also have protein in my urine and painful intercourse so I don't know if it's a pelvic muscle thing but I see a physical therapist tomorrow and I'll ask. I need to know what this pain is. I'm 21, female and have been dealing this for almost 7 months. I've had blood work, it or test, ultrasounds and everything is coming back normal. I'm really scared and I just want my life back to normal. Any help?

Just read all 22 pages of this thread and I can not say how sad I feel that so many woman are having this problem and theres practically no concrete information on this and were all just guessing. I came here hopefully looking for answers for my situation but just lots of different causes it could be (which I'm grateful for) My brief history: about three months ago after having 7-8 months of irregular periods with heavy cramping I decided I needed to get looked at. Two days before my appt I started having uti like symptoms, everything but pain when i urinated (but do have tiny like 'shocks' of pain that go right away) and no blood in urine. Went to planned parenthood and of course that day I had no uti symptoms. (figured i flushed it out) Noticed I was really sensitive during the exam but figured it was because I haven't had sex on a LONG time (5 years- don't laugh haha). Went on depo and that took care of the cramps within a week. But noticed the uti symptoms came back. Couldn't take it anymore and went to a doctor. No UTI but she said I had yeast in my urine. Gave me pennaclin (sp?) didn't help at all. During this time I was having symptoms on and off (mostly on)some times more uncomfortable then others, although it now was just a tingling/slight burning sensation right there at the front of my urethra and that feeling like i needed to pee but not to the point that i had to run to the potty. After a month and still no improvement and clean urine tests/cultures she finally did a exam. TWO vaginal bacterial infections. She told me this could def be causing the urinary issues. Gave me 2 antibiotics (metronide and cipro) and i started taking Rephresh too and a week later still had the urethra problems. She gave me more cipro. still didn't work. Then after I finished those it felt like I had a yeast infection from all the antibiotics. She then gave me diflucan (without a exam, which I now know is a big no no with a possible BI.) It help a teeny bit. Finally decided to do a natural remedy and tried plain yogurt up there. i figured it wouldn't hurt. put it in before bed and washed in the morning. Did this for 5 days I did see some improvement with the vaginal issues but after a couple days the urinary problems came back just as bad as in the beginning. so safe to say I'm soooo frustrated. Finally got the doctor to make a referral to see a gyno after she just wanted to hive me anti-spasm meds an not find out the underlying issue. She wanted to send me to a urologist cause my main symptoms are with my urethra but I just have a feeling I still have a BI or something down there causing this. I don't think it's a coincidence these both started around the same time. Plus a urologist isn't going to want to help me if I still possibly have a vaginal bacterial infection. Anyways I am hopefully seeing the gyno soon and will update with what she finds and if anything helps me in case it can help anyone else. If anyone reads this sometime soon and their story sounds similar to mine please leave a message so I have more info when I go to my appointment. Take care ladies

Hey everyone - I found this blog recently, having all the same symptoms as most of you describe here. Recently got over a bladder infection/UTI, but still the burning, irritated feeling when I don't drink a ton of water etc. Well I did find an answer to MY problem, hopefully it may help some of you - I sometimes see a naturopathic doctor in addition to my regular doctor, so I went to him at wits end. He did find that I have a very low grade FUNGAL KIDNEY INFECTION which is causing my symptoms. Also there were some structural things with my anterior spine/lower back that needed attention that were apparently aggravating the symptoms too (there are nerves along certain places in the spine that can affect psoaz (sp?) muscles and bladder/kidney function). I've been on the two products he gave me and already feeling quite a bit better after a day.

I obviously don't know if this is the answer to any or all of your issues too, I am not a doctor, and I know many folks are pretty anti-alternative medicine, you may bring some of this to a traditional doctor and they may laugh you out of the room, but just wanted to share my findings in hopes that maybe some of you can get second opinions or some new answers and find some relief too. I hope you all find healing and relief somehow, it's SO frustrating when you've tried seemingly everything and gotten nowhere. :-)

I'm 18 years old and I suffer from the same exact thing. I had a very bad UTI in January and it went untreated for almost a month. After it was treated, I still suffered from the pain and discomfort in my urethra. I've been to the doctor several times and I have no stds or bacteria. I take 3 probiotics every day and I started taking D-mannose pills that act the help your mucus wall in your gastrointestinal region stay healthy. I just started taking it so I'm not sure if that's the cure, but so far it has been helping. I went to my gyn and explained my symptoms. After taking a look, she explained that it's sometimes a symptom of dehydration. I've seen a lot of people post that the pain is better with lots of water. My pain is usually worse in the morning before I drink water and my doctor told me to drink plenty of water before I go to bed. I should be going to the bathroom at least once during the night, and then to drink more water when I get up to go to the bathroom. It seems to have helped me. I can't say this is the cure or the actual cause of the problem but I thought I would share. I wish you all luck and hope somebody is able to find out what the real problem is. :)

You could have Urethral Diverticula. Very uncommon...........easily missed even with cystoscopy. It took 15 doctors, too many tests to remember. Check it out and good luck.

Hi guys, sorry to hear about your problems, they are the same as mine but hopefully I may be able to give you a little hope. Don't give up on yourself, if your doctors don't want to look further gop to a different doctor, get a second opinion. Ask your doctor for a MCU, CT Scan, IVP/CT Pelvis, Renal Scan ( NM DTPA Scan ) Cystoscopy. Hopefully anyone of these may help you find an answer, they have me, just don't give up on yourself and don't let the doctor give up on you, if he does then find another one as he's not the one for you.
