Hi I'm and 18 year old female and have been having the same symptoms as everybody here! I had one horrific UTI after sex which took 2 lots of antibiotics to get rid of and then had another 5 UTIs in the following 2 months. After that I thought I had another infection but tests came back negative, have now had the burning in my urethra for 7 months and it seems to be getting worse! I find the pain is at its worst while on my period and in the mornings. Please does anyone know what this could be?

You could have a candida overgrowth which most doctors don't even acknowledge exists.
A candida overgrowth is a possibility. Most doctors do not acknowledge they exist much less test for them. If you research candida overgrowth you will find a lot about it. Don't be fooled by most of the cures. Does not seem to be a cure. Can only get it in check and keep keep it in check. However I intend to beat this bastard. Right now I am taking syntoll, serracor nk which is a combination of serrapeptase, nattokanase and other enzymes, the candida diet, and taking reishi mushroom capsules to build my immune system. I also have an infrared sauna. I have done loads of research. Everyone seems to have the only cure. Let me know how it goes and good luck!
Both of my daughters have pcos. To my knowledge neither has ever had that problem. If I am not mistaken most people with pcos usually get diabetes. One of my daughters has it the other does not. However the one who does have it gets frequent yeast infections. (Candida).
Do not take antibiotics. This is probably what caused your problem to begin with. Candida overgrowth can be caused by antibiotics. If you will notice you all have one thing in common. All were on antibiotics for uti's. Hope you girls find your answer if this is not it. God bless you all.
Hi I'm the 18 year old who's had this for 7 months. Thank you for your advice everyone I will check out candida overgrowth. Thought I'd update you, since writing that I've had one uti and ended up in hospital with a kidney infection. An ultrasound showed up something wrong with my tube from my left kidney to my bladder but they don't seem too concerned, should I be? I'm now having another scan and a cystoscopy so maybe this will show something.

I've been having the same problem it is making me crazy it hurts so bad, but I've had recurring shingles on my left buttocks I break out at least every 3 months it has spread to my ear and nostril, I have been to 2 urologists a on/gun and am being referred to a specialist in on/gun but I think it's shingles because it comes and goes with no rynm or reason it makes me want to end it all, I can't take this pain and I've been in alot of pain since my head on collision but this is beyond ever childbirth!
How do you find someone who understands that women have the equivalent of a prostate and it gets infected?!! I have this, and was misdiagnosed as having PID x2. I get SIGNIFICANT relief with ceftriaxone, but no one will give me more than a single dose at one time...thinking they are treating for GC. The symptoms completely abate for 1.5 days, and then come raging back! OMG! Why isn't the medical community more informed? Who can I see that can help me culture and treat my skenes gland???
