Happened to me, turned out to be a yeast infection.

Hello, I’m so sorry to hear you’ve been going through this and you are in so much pain. I never got an answer from any of the doctors/nurse practitioners I saw but I ended up getting off of the birth control I was on thinking the same thing you did, it must be hormonal, but the pain didn’t go away. I kept up with the Sitz baths and massaging to avoid any adhesions or atrophy or anything like you mentioned as a possible cause. I actually could feel sort of a hard bump under my skin when doing this and ended up sort of pushing at it and eventually a hard pearl sort of came out and I felt almost immediate relief. I don’t know if it was just a keratin pearl stuck under my skin that was getting infected and causing signs of infection and blood to be in my urine but it pulled my skin tight due to the restriction and I noticed there was a sort of red irritated vein line from my clitoral area down to my urethra from the pressure and inflammation. It took months before the pearl came out and it was really just due to me trying to soothe the inflammation and massaging to keep things from atrophying. If you notice something similar, like a hard pearl like bump under your skin and it looks like your skin is being pulled tight or something you may bring it up to your doctor or try to gently push or squeeze it, it may just come out on its own. Use a loofah down there or a washcloth to massage the area in the shower and bath too, just to make sure it’s not folliculitis or anything. It could very well be a kidney stone but you’d be surprised what pain a little tiny keratin pearl trapped under the skin can cause. Especially when it causes swelling and inflammation that restricts glands and blood flow in the area that can also cause vaginal dryness. I’m not a medical professional by any means but feeling around down there for any sort of restriction or bumps under the skin couldnt hurt. I hope you find your cure, all the best!
