Back in April I had pain localized around my gallbladder-- under my right rib cage. The pain is like soreness or tenderness, but it only hurts below the skin and not any particular organ or muscle. No bone pain either. It feels like breast tenderness but elsewhere in the body. Otherwise I can describe it as like when you lean over a hard egde and bruise your tissue over your ribs....or hit your shin and the flesh is tender.
Gradually it spread to more of my abdomen. Then both my sides. Then up my back. Then into my fatty tissue on the arms and shoulders...then my neck, even my ears and face sometimes hurt!! It goes into the fat on my thighs, and then the pad inside of my knees, too. Sometimes it goes to the feet but that is rare.
I am most sensitive on the abdomen above the gut and around the belly button. Just brushing my handover my skin is extremely painful. Its like maybe the nerves are inflamed or shot.
After a while I developed chills at night. Now, I have headaches, I dont have a fever but I SWEAT a lot, feel nauseated, am clammy, generally ill and I sleep a lot, just to not "endure" this. I also can get lightheaded.
I have tried dietary changes and digestive aids, cleansing fasts, and even went to the ER complaining of pain and they did X-rays and said they didnt see anything.
There's no rash, no itch, no bruises... I dont notice any swelling or heat.
I have also had plenty of bloodowrk-- general chemistry, hormones, liver & kidney, urinalysis, etc still no clue whats going wrong.
What do you all guess it could be.....

I am personally feeling all the same symptoms that you are feeling. Did you ever get a diagnosis or explanation from a doctor that you were comfortable with. So far I was told I have some kind of virus but that's not enough info for me. My doctor has not done any blood work but referred me to a neurologist and his answer was a virus but thats not working for me. I have had the pain for 14 days now and have been lightheaded and dizzy for the past two days. The pain has traveled all over my body but has always remainded consistent around my abdomen and back. Please let me know if you have found anything out about your problem.

I feel your pain. I am having all the same symptoms that you are. I have been to two different doctors and I still don't have an answer. My general doctor referred me to a neurologist and his only reply was that I probably have a virus. So far I don't have a good answer. Have you gotten an answer as to what the problem may be? Tried any meds? I am getting desperate now. I have had the pains for about 2 1/2 weeks now and the dizziness for a couple days. I am going nuts trying to get the bottom of this mess. Any info you have gotten would be greatly appreciated.

I am having the same symptoms you are, mine have been going on for 2 years now, I have had ultrasounds, MRI's, next month i am having a colonoscopy. it started on my right side, just as yours and now it is spread to my left. did you ever find out what is wrong with you?

About 7 months ago I became very sick with serious abdomal pain and and non stop vomitting.Ended up at emerg,and in the hospital for 5 days.They seem to think that I had some sort of virus that had something to do with the gallbladder.
Now it being 7 months later I have develpoed serious tissue pain.The pain that seems as though my body is swollen and retaining fluid is all over.Some days it is not very noticiable and other days it is difficult to move as my tissue seems stiff and sore.There is no joint pain only tissue.A week ago I felt lightheaded ans felt like I was going to have a heart attack.
I am a pretty heatlhy person but this has worried me as no one seems to have any answers,

My mom is going through the same issues. She now has a team of doctors including Primary, Gastrointerologist, and Rheumatologist. We are going to ask about Dercums Disease/Adiposis Dolorosa the next time we go. I did some research and the symptoms match. We are also looking at Primary Biliary Cirrhosis since she has been having issues with bile duct infections and pain in the liver area. It is all so complicated and all connected somehow.

My daughter went to a doctor yesterday (the only one that knows about Dercums Disease) in La Jolla, Calif and that is what she has. It has been over a year and she saw every doctor she could. This disease is not well known and it is almost impossible to diagnose. Good luck to all of you

You are really lucky that you were able to find a doctor who knew what this problem was though! I'm really glad to hear that you were able to get so lucky because a lot of people seem to suffer with this disease and don't know how to get it diagnosed. Can you let us know who the doctor was so that other people can go to him too?

I have had a lump under my left knee for years and now it has grown to the size of a softball and is getting tender.....also it is starting on my right knee as well......been to half a dozen doctors at least....had ultra sound and x rays and so far no one knows what it is.......
I visited a chiropractor a few weeks ago and mentioned it to him.....he said it was a lipoma and I could have it surgically removed.....Now I am seeing a specialist next week....altho have to have another ultrasound as it has been over 5 years since my last one..
Now that I am hearing about Dermus disease I must thank you and investigate this further

have you got gallstones??? few years back i was doubled up with pain in the upper abdomen/chest area and thought i was having a heart attack.this happened several times and was getting more frequent. one day when it happened the pain lasted a few days, i eventualy went yellow because i had a stone blockage. emergency surgery was needed for the gallbladder to be removed..over the last few years i have still been getting similiar pain and had allsorts of tests/scans/xrays done, all coming back negative. they said i may be getting bouts of pancreaitis. it still ongoing but less frequent now until a few days ago..ive been getting like a bruising/pinching feeliing where my gallbladder used to be or near the liver, ive also notice loads of lumps under my skin on the top half of my abdomen, some of which are tender. i have lost loads of weight(my choice) and just thought this may be fatty tissue lumps left.i will see how it goes for a few days then i'l be going back to the docs..

I have been dealing with all the things that you all have posted for 12 years...catscans in 98 and 2007...nothing found!! IT sometimes makes me nauseated,shooting pains,itching all over the abdomen,belching ALOT,tired,weak,sitting is not a good thing!!water aroebics help!!also nuerontin and lyrica keep the nerve and muscle endings quiet for a while but can only take at bedtime or when off work because they are mind altering but when i get up in a.m. the pain is gone!!!! Had gallbladder tests too...nothing but slow digestion...

I have been up and down the doctors for weeks now with these symptoms,swolen abdomen(looking 9mnths pregnant)acid reflux pain in lower bak and under right ribs wich spread up the bak and has now reached my left side.and I have tender swollen rib cage.at 1 point I was about 2 ring an ambulance as I thought was havin a heart attack.the the first doctor put me on codiene wich caused severe constipation(actualy not realising I was constipated in the first place)it was wen I went 2 the hospital they told me due to the severity of the constipation it was pushing all my insides up yes I was shocked 2 here that this was the problem I also suffer ibs and gerd which hieghtend all my symptoms.. after a clear out with strong laxatives I am gettin better apart from the tissue swelling under my ribs...even tho we go the toiet a lot still remains in the bowels which can cause nasty symptoms also impact.ibs does cause a lot of these symptoms aswei.the stress of wondering wat is wrong will make your symptoms twice as bad...hope this will help in some way....veronica hardwick age 30

I've been expieriencing the same issues as above since June. My primary did blood work and found that I had H-pyloria(think it spelt that way). It's a bacterial iinfection. He put me on antibiotics for 14 days and at the end I felt alot better. But within a week the systoms all came back and the pain is moving to other area's of my stomach. Mainly right around my naval. E-rays showed nothing. Neither did an EGD or colonoscopy. They want me to go have a Ct scan. I feel like most of the pain is in the fatty tissue. like if you pinch at ten and two on your belly button that is where the pain is. Sometimes it almost feels like a tearing sensation. Last night I started to wonder if the belly button ring I had for two years that never healed has caused all of this?? Who knows.
