Hello everyone,

I want to thank you all for your responses ahead of time. I am very stressed out and worried. My mom is 51 years old and has had no serious health problems at all. 5 months ago she started having pain on a small area on the upper left side of her throat. It is right below her lymph node. She only feels pain on the upper left side when she turns her head to the right side and swallows and sometimes when she is swallowing normally. She doesnt have any problems when swallowing food when her neck is straight. When she presses the area it  hurts her. She went to her doctor and he gave her some anti imflammatory medication and he did an ultrasound of her throat in which nothing showed up. 2 weeks ago she went back because the pain does not go away so her doctor gave her a refferal to see an otolaryngologist. The appt is next week but i am worried sick and hoping it is nothing serious. Has anyone experienced something like this? and does anyone have an idea of what could be causing this pain?
