For a few years, only on occasion, when I bend over from a sitting position, I get the most horrible pain in the upper right part of my abdomen. It started feeling like the runner's stitch you get from running. It has always felt like whatever is inside me, just turns rock hard and I have to try to stretch out and can only try to breathe through the pain until it subsides. The pain is very sharp and is very strong - takes my breath away. This has gotten more common, and it usually leaves the area tender like a bruise for a time after the episode. Just recently it has started happening on my left side too. I am scared and hoping for information from anyone. I have mentioned it to doctors before but the have always dismissed it. I have recently thought it was my liver, but I have had tests that indicate my liver and kidneys are fine. I did have a hernia repair up there on the right side, and did have my gall bladder removed too without incidence. I am also over weight and have thought is may be the issue. I am 56 now, female. I appreciate any information anyone has and wish everyone good health. Thanks.
