About 2 nights ago I scrubbed my bathtub with Ajax. The following morning I took a bath and used a different kind of soap than usual. Mid day the area between my vagina and anus became painful. I am wondering if this is a type of allergic reaction. Also a few day before this I lifted something very heavy. To top that off I also walked on a trail near my house 2 days in a row. I am now really confused to if this painful raised area is an allergic reaction to soap, bathroom cleaner, rubbing from walking, of from lifting an extremely heavy object. When I look at the area in the mirror the area looks as it normally does. The area just feels sore. I have put baby powder on it to keep it dry but I am wondering if I should be worried, see a doctor, or if I am just having some sort of reaction. Anyone with a valid opinion I would appreciate your response.
Hi! IF you are a woman, please don't use talcum powder down there OK? There are MANY studies that show that talcum powder can get into the vagina and into the cervix! Just a FYI!

I am sure when you scrubbed your tub, you rinsed it after, and then with the water in the bath, I really doubt that Ajax is the problem! I DO think it has more to do with either the soap or the straining! The next time you go to the washroom, grab a piece of toilet paper and wipe the area firmly, if it feels like a burn then it sounds like an irritation - probably from the new soap, the walking I think would show more in your upper thigh than on your bottom! Now if the firm wiping feels like a bruise pain, then I would hazzard a guess that you have pulled your perinium muscles that go from the front to the back/anus - this will also be the case if you are a man! I think that IF you have pulled the muscle, then the walking long distances for 2 days in a row, will have probably aggravated it.

So depending on the results, IF it is more like a burning rash, use a cream such as polysporing, and don't use anything scented close to that area, such as soap, wash detergent, and wear cotton underwear.

IF it is a bruise pain, then you can put an ice pack and then a warm hot water bottle - alternating on the area! This will ease the inflamation, also take Ibuprofen - this is better for muscle sprains. NOW if this doesn't clear up in a week, I think you should have it checked by your doctor! Also gently massage the area, with warm drops of olive oil, this will help rleax the hard muscle and loosen the area up! Also try and do breathing exercises so you don't tense the sphincter muscle - which can aggravate the area even more! I hope this helps you, and let me know how you make out OK? Good luck and health!
