My daughter is now 11 months old, and I can't use pampers brand diapers on her, it gives her a painful rash that the diaper sticks to. Now we use huggies. But now she has a rash on her calves, shins, and behind her knees and what looks like a few zits. After reading this, I remember reading about that staph infection and I'm taking her to the doctor today. I'm glad I read this. Thank You!

I don't think it's the Pull-ups. My 21 month old daughter has the same rash and she is still in diapers. We use Huggies Supreme diapers...the best of the best. Anything else will cause her to break out in a horrible case of hives. Yet, she still has this rash. She's had it for almost 2 months now. The doctor says it's nothing to worry about, but you know how moms are...we worry regardless. A friend suggested that I take her in to be tested for MRSA. We'll be going in to the peds tomorrow! I hope I can share some anwers then!

About a week ago my son started getting the pimple like bumps on his bottom. Coincidentally three days ago he had a fever of 102 and was diagnosed with strep throat. So I don't know if the doctor the other person was talking about was that crazy. He says that it hurts and will not let me carry him with my hand or arm under his bottom. He also is wearing pull-ups. They are the ones with the cool alert in the front if that has any significance. I'm scheduling an appointment tomorrow and will report back what his doctor has to say.

About 5 days ago, my 3 Year old started getting pimple like bumps on the cheeks of his rear end. Yesterday he woke up telling me he had boo boo's on his knees. When I looked, he had the same pimple like bumps on his knee caps. Upon further inspection of his body, he also had it on his calves, ankles, feet, fingers, hands and wrists. I called the doctor, and a nurse told me to put lotramine (sp) on it and call back if it didn't get better after a couple days. Well it hasn't gotten better, and some bumps almost look like blisters now. The only thing that has been different as of late is he's peeing A LOT at night and as a result peeing his bed. I'm thinking it might have to do with him "soaking" in urine. We also tried one of those "Cool when Wet" pull-ups, but just once. I don't think that is the problem. What's really interesting is the bumps don't see to cause him pain, and he has no fever. We go to the Doc's in the morning. I hope this will not last 2 months. :| If I find an answer I'll let you know. Thanks to all of you for posting and giving an idea of what to expect.

our problem started on my 6 yr old daughter. Her bump got really red inflamed and hard, about half dollar size. She couldn't even set on it. We thought it was a spider bite or something...We popped it a couple times and took forever to heal... You can still see the spot that hasn't completely healed after 4 months have past...

Now onto my son... almost 3 yr old.... Started out what looked like diaper rash....then little pimples... 2 of them got really infected, inflamed, hard, and really sore, half dollar size. Couldn't pop his but they ended up poping on their own. We figured the spider bite thing was outa the ? so we took him to the doc. The doc said either infected hair or exsema that he had scratched and infected with possible staph. Gave us Bactrim antibotic I think...10 days....didn't clear it up all the way. The two spots still just slightly hard and still there. Yesterday....had about 10 pimples now today one is getting bad...hence I'm on here looking for remedy.

Potty training here....underware during the day and Pull ups at night and nap. Unscented everything....

what is going on?

My daughter had sores that started out looking like pimples. Within a few days it would become a full grow boil. I took her to the doctor numerous times and they placed her on antibiotics every time. The last time I took her in, the doctor decided to try something different. She gave me an ointment to put inside her nose to kill any staph infection she may have. Since then we haven't had any incidents.

Another big change between now and the last time was she finally potty trained. My daughter was a tough kid to get on the potty so we used pull ups for a long time. Once she was in big girl panties on a regular basis (except at night), the sores never came back.

These sores started on her legs and eventually ended up on her butt. To this day I have no clue what they were and I pray they never come back. She has plenty of permanent scars from the sore, not to mention they were very painful for her.

I suggest to all parents who are experiencing this problem to get some antibiotics and mention the treatment of an ongoing staph infection to your doctor as well. I don't know if it was ultimately the ointment I had to put in her nose, the lack of pull ups, or a combination of both. I do know that my daughter experienced these sores twice a month for a year and now she hasn't had one in 4 months!

I hope this information helps! I know how frustrating this condition can be and though it is exhausting, I encourage all parents to not give up. Again I still to this day have no diagnosis, but so far we seem to have gotten rid of the sores altogether.

My 5 year old is having the same issue. 2 appeared on his butt cheek they festered and drained and then they heal and then show up again. I held up out of school and then after 3 days of him being back to school, they reappear. Up until Thursday they were only appearing on his rear end. Now they are moving down the back of his leg. He wears loose clothing except for his underwear..no pullups. I was beginning to think it was the laundry detergent that I am using. I have tried everything from wiping his rear with alcohol, aloe, bacitracin, tar, salt baths, warm damp compresses - no anti fungal yet though. It isn't systemic because he's not running a fever but they are very painful to him. Lots of pus comes out when they drain. I am trying to refrain from antibiotics..the one time I did put him on antibiotics he developed an allergic reaction to them. I've upped his diet to include lots of fresh garlic and vitamin c....I am bewildered. I am picking up colloidal silver at the store tomorrow - someone suggested to me - and a multivitamin. They aren't spreading to anyone else in my family so I'm assuming it isn't a bacterial infection.

My son has this right now and his day care said that they are a mild form of chicken pox. I personally think its an allergic reaction to something. Most likely i will give him an antihistamine today. BUT if it is chicken pox, once the rash appears, its not contagious. He's vaccined for chicken pox to but apparently he can still get them. I dunnno He doesn't itch them or cry about them. they don't bother him at all. just look nasty lol

I don't think it's the pull-ups! My daughter is 2 and she is pretty much potty trained. She wears panties all day and then pull-ups at night, but I don't think it's the pull-ups. She has several pimple like spots on her bottom. They come and go, and have white heads as well. i would really like to know what they are so I can treat them accordingly.

OMG!!!.. my 3 yr old son got this about 3 weeks ago & it has gotten worse!. I read on here another mom wrote that she wondered if it was for "Pull Up's?"... well that is when my son's rash started & now they are HUG!!!. Never b 4 did he have this rash but he started peeing in his pants @ night so I put the pull ups on him & that's when it started!. I guess from laying in his urine all night created an infection of some sort but no one seems to know what to use to clear it up. I think we should be taking our kids to the Dermetologist because it is a "SKIN" infection & our Ped. in not trianed in spacific skin irritations. The ER does no good so don't bother!... it is a waist of time & they look @ u like you caused it to your child!. You need to keep the area clean ALL day EVERY day, warm baths help & I'm going to try & get some Monistat/gynolotramin (anti fungle) and c if that helps till I can take him to the dermo on Monday. If anyone has an answer or ? to this plase let me know. This infection hurts him so much & even causes him to not sleep.

My daughter is 2 1/2 and she was very reluctant to use the potty so I put her in pull ups. She had started to get a diaper rash that eventually went away except for one little red bump which very quickly turned into a HUGE boil. I soaked her in the bath and then popped it but it came back the very next day just as big with another one beside it. I took her to the doctor who diagnosed it as a staph infection and gave her liquid anti biotics and a topical anti bacterial cream. The infection did go away but there are still 2 little purple dots that are a little hard and it's been about a month now. Now, 2 days ago a little white pimple has appeared on her labia and now is HUGE swollen. I dont understand what could be causing this because she has a bath everyday and now uses the potty and only pull ups at night.

My 2 yr old twins had pimples and red bumps on their bum and it itched really bad. I called the pediatrician and she said it was toddlers butt excema and to use a cortizone cream twice a day and an aquaphor ointment 4 to 5 times a day. That took it away within about 2 weeks.

I have the same problem with my daughter. She is 2 1/2 and is potty trained and we dont use pull ups at night.. just use the same diapers we have always used.. but they are ONLY for her to sleep. The bumps started about the time we put her in panties and I can not figure out what it is. I changed detergent a million times... changed bath soap and bubbles.. i clean it with peroxide and sometimes alcohol when she gets out of the bath .. she has no allergies that i know of.. I have not taken her to the doctor yet.. but i made an appointment. It started as little red bumps, then turned to white head pus like bumps.. i never popped them. she itches at them sometimes but not alot. they look like they are about to go away then right as i get excited.. they come right back. sometimes on just one cheek and sometimes on both .. but they are staying in that area and no where else.. very confusing ????????
