I'm doing a lot better now. A nice side benefit to all this is that I've lost 10 lbs. since the surgery!

Hope your appointment went well!

No, I do not feel that it is a good thing to bring God into everything. In fact, that's what causes/what has caused the majority of fighting throughout history because people have different beliefs! We are on this forum to have an open discussion about our bodies as women, not what we believe in terms of the Divine.

I am 17 and the last time I had my period was May 16 I believe. I kind of forgot but I know it was before the 26th of may. Buy anyway I did have sex and ended up telling my mom I might be pregnant when I missed my period in june. Of course she was upset but it came out negative 4 times. And now I am freaking out since it is now september 3rd and I have yet to see my period. I did spot a little in june but that was it. Sometimes my left side hurts bad or I have severe chest pains. I also have a record of low blood count. It got bad to the point I couldn't walk due to my numb legs. Can having low blood count effect you period or is it something else? I am trying to get to a doctor but I can't afford and it seems my mom doesn't care much either. She knows it hasn't come but hasn't taken any action. I guess I get whatever is coming to me.

Hey Evilean! You should never feel that you are "getting whatever is coming to you." I'm not sure exactly what you mean by that, but if it is that you should just except what is happening as a consequence of having sex then I really hope you reconsider. Our choices are our own and no one else can tell us our decisions are wrong if we feel they are right for US. Besides, if you aren't pregnant then your symptoms probably have nothing to do with you having sex anyhow.
Anyways, I know it has been a month since you posted, but if you are still experiencing these symptoms you NEED to speak to a professional instead of relying on what people post on here. If your mom isn't helping then you should speak to a teacher, counselor, mother of a friend, etc, anyone who can offer you advice on seeking medical attention. I hope everything works out for you =) Take care of yourself hun

Hi, I was recently diagnosed with a 3.2cm ovarian cyst, after spending 7 hours in the emergency room. The doctors were convinced that I had kidney stones, but after negative cat scan, they did ultrasound and discovered this. I have a 9 mos old and haven't had a period since Aug 07, but I stopped nursing him in Nov/Dec, so I've been told this is normal. My doctor said he was going to watch the cyst and do another ultrasound in 6 wks. Meanwhile I'm still having bad back pain and a lot of pressure when I go to the bathroom. My periods were irregular before I had my son. My doctor ordered hormone testing, but the results are fine and nothing is off. Do you think this cyst is the reason my period is delayed. The other thing is I can't take birth control because I had a blood clot in my arm a yr ago. So I dont know what they are going to do

I didn't start my period till I was 16. When it did start it was very irregular. Sometimes I would have it 3 weeks later, other time it was 3 months. My doctor at the time said my hormonal levels were just fluctuating and perscribed the pill for homonal therapy.

Periods can also skip because of increased physical activity (sports, more active work conditions) and can also skip because of the amount of stress you have in your life.

Either way it would be good to talk to your family doctor or be refered to a gynocologist.

I've had cysts on my ovaries (PCOS) for many years now and yes, these will make your periods irregular if you are not on the pill. I began taking the birth control pill and my cysts gradually disappeared and my periods became regular. It is something you should definitly talk to your docotr about because although it is very rare, cysts can rupture. I had an ovarian cyst rupture, (that's how I found out I even had them!) and it is the most painful thing I've ever experienced. It requires hours in the ER, lots of invasive and uncomfortable tests, and I don't wish that experience on anyone!!! I don't want to scare you because rupturing cysts is pretty rare but you definitly should talk to your doctor asap as PCOS also can effect your fertility!

hey...I'm only late for my period...not super late ..I think...I forgot to mark my last period but anyways. I took three tests and they all say negative. I am overweight and had blood work to check my thyroid a little while back but there was nothing wrong. Ovarian and uterine problems run in my family but I don't have any lumps or pain in that area. I've always been a heavy blessed as well. I'm concerned...I've nor missed one or been late before...

I am also late to this but I also have something that I have been worrying about that has to do with this topic. I am currently 17, going on 18 in a month and I haven't had a single period since I was 15, which was my first one. I am still a virgin so I know that it couldn't be pregnancy gone wrong or anything like that. I went to my gyno and had an ultrasound done and they found that I had a cyst on one of my ovaries. Could this cyst cause my almost three year delayed period?

Please help out, it would mean a lot! Thanks!
