I had my period the week before I got the flu. But now during this week of getting the flu there still is blood coming out and it has since my period. Does this mean anything? Is the flu messing with my body and should I worry at all?
Hi there, I'm not sure if the two are still related, and I don't imagine that the flu is related to having a period. Do you think that you could see a doctor about this? I think that it would be a good idea. What do you think?

Absolutely. Many factors can affect our cycles, especially extreme stress, not eating, and illness. Our bodies endure all three of these with the flu. If you get the flu before you ovulate, there is a chance it could cause you to have an anovulatory cycle (you don't release an egg). This could bring your next period early. My midwife (I see one rather than a gyno) recommended I read Taking Charge of Your Fertility and it has changed the way I see my body and cycle and taught me what I just shared with you. US public education should include it in ever girl's health curriculum in high school!!!
