This is crazy! I’m relieved I’m not the only one but sad that no one has found a cure! I am 43 but it all started when I was 20 something. I thought I was running into something cause I kept getting bruises on my thigh or on my butt every once in a while... it stopped in my 30’s but came back with a vengeance when I turned 42! I get a redness on my butt days before my period... same area that start to itch then it becomes painful. It never comes to a head but goes away after my period. This mess is crazy!!

I have had this condition for years and I have gone to many doctors. Being in the medical field myself, I did some research and it appears England is much more in tune to the condition than the US. Please research Hiradenitis suppurativa and see an open-minded dermatologist and an endocrinologist. This needs to be treated unilaterally. In the meantime, hot compresses and topical anesthetics will help but we all need hormone treatment, antibiotics and to lose weight (if applicable) to alleviate the situations. Good luck!

I get them before my periods also and I have read somewhere that If you put a sanitizer on it will go away. So yes, I recently had one and just put some hand sanitizer on it and it quickly went away. I am amazed that it worked so well.

I’ve been getting these since I was 13 or 14, I’m 18 now. I normally get them within a week before my period. I’ve been to my regular doctor, a dermatologist, and my gynecologist about them. They’ve all given me savs or creams, & sometimes even a pill to try to help but they just keep coming back. They all said it’s folliculitis and in-grown hairs, so all I can do is get baths to help or get lazer hair removal which is expensive. They leave scars and scar tissue so I would really embarrassed to have sex with my boyfriend at first. Anyone know any good creams or something to get rid of scars that isn’t too expensive?

Hi,

A suggestion: if you use a menstrual cup, you'll probably be able to stop wearing panties altogether.
I wear mine while sleeping naked and it has worked just fine.
Might be good to give it a try, and see if it works for you.

It’s called “hidradenitis suppurativa“ I get them under my arm and on my vag... i’ve Had them since I was about 13, i’ll Be 30 this year! At the age of 17 I underwent surgery to remove the sweat glands from under my arms, in an attempt to get rid of “hidradenitis suppurativa” it helped for awhile but then I began to get boils again in places around the area I had my surgery, as well as on my vag. The boils have a lot to due with sweat which is causing the hair follicles to get infected, and resulting in a painful boil. I used to get teased in school because I would have boils under my arm that would decide to burst, causing blood to run down my under arm and ruin my white shirts, and lets not get started on the pain, there was times I couldn’t even put my arms down because it was to painful. There is no cure for “hidradenitis suppurativa” because it’s not an life or death thing, not enough people have it, or are dealing with it to get a cure. I’ve tried many remedies egg whites, no panties, burst them by hand, surgery, etc... and all I’m left with it the boils and insecurities because my arm pits looks horrible because of an unnecessary surgery my doctor told me would help. I found that a warm towel relieve some of the pain and helps shrink the boils. My only guess as to why you only get them during our periods is because our bodies expands causing us to sweat more, which leads to those hair follicles getting infected which result in boils, but I’m no doctor so don’t quote me on that...

What you have may be what I had they are epidermal cyst and they can be drained I just had 20 small ones drained off my labia i had them for years because my other doctors said they had to be removed with surgery and since they weren't causing me pain they wouldn't do it. I finally found a gynecologist that would drain them.It hurts but was well worth it since it was affecting my self esteem and sex life, having to explain that I didn't have an STD to every man I was with.

I am really glad i found this forum. I get boils in my lower abdomen and genital area. It comes and goes. Some burst but some dont. Some r big and some relatively small. But every bit of it is uncomfortable. I used antibiotic ointment. But its just a temporary solution. It pops up every damn month a week before periods and is there for quite sometime, leaving a scar behind. Hope there is a solution to this.
