This has to be a nerve problem. Anyone who experiences this, do you have diabetes? Diabetes sometimes attacks nerves causing tingling sensations or pain in more severe cases. It's worth bringing up if you've gone to the doctor and they can't explain it.

same thing here.. did u by chance have an epidural? or spinal tap thing. after i had my daughter this happens to me. i have had a perminate scab on my back from scratching the numb "itchy" spot! i remember they asked me which side i felt a twich on when they tapped my spine..and its the same side i have this feeling. My thought is that this could be nerve damage.

Omg! I've been experiencing the same thing for about 3 weeks now & decided to research & I find that I'm not the only one that's feeling the same things you all described! I am freaking out, I'm scared! I've been healthy all of my life and I plan to live longer to raise my kids and to see my kids raise their kids! I'm going to set an appointment! Anyway I'm going to pray for all of us, that we remain healthy!

I have had the exact same tingling on the left side of my spine below the shoulder blade for about 3 months. I went to my dermatologist this morning, and she is doing a biopsy on a spot that has been there for a while, although she didn't think it looked suspicious. I also have an appointment with my gp to have blood work done this week. I'm tired of worrying about it. Will let you know the results.

I have had this same thing on and off for the last 15 years.  For me it is not something that can be fixed with creams, ointments, biopsies (good god!), or as a precursor to shingles or a mole developing.  When the muscle is massaged where the tingling is it feels much better afterward.  I went to a masseuse and they said it is where I place my stress.  I know this can seem "out there" but it is trues for me.  When I am stressed it tingles more and when I am more relaxed it goes away.  I also know it can be working out too strenuously and have to be vigilant on stretching it out before and after.  I do some Yoga and a Rabbit Pose really helps to stretch it out.  Hope this helps.

Wow, I thought I was alone with this. Im 20 and I've had this going for about three months. I had believed that it was my lung? Because I smoke weed everyday for about 2 years and sometimes when I'm high the sensation increases so I thought it was from smoking. But I doubt all of you are smokers, are you?

'I had the shingles 10 years ago and the tingling started about 5 years ago. My doctor didn't think it was anything serious and I think it is related to the shingles because it is in the same area as the shingles. Dry winter skin can also be a factor. I used baby oil to relieve the itch. It has not gotton worse so I live with it since it is only sporadic.'

yeah I agree, I've experienced the exact same sensation that everyone has posted. I noticed it would happen when I sit down and my back is slouched as I play guitar or am on my computer. Then when I feel the tingling I straiten up and it starts to fade.

Hi everyone!

I injured the thoracic area of my back months ago! I pinched some nerves along the way, and went back to chiropractic care. The pain has subsided to almost nothing now! Funny thing though, because of all the nerve agitation/nerve compression to the area, I now have tingling too. It has been a few weeks now-it is at my feet or at times just my thoracic back area. With time and proper chiropractic care my chiro says the tingling will eventually stop. It is important to see a chiro for these things!! They are the only ones that receive proper extensive education on the nerves and spine. You can go to a doctor but a doc will just give you meds, wouldn't you rather correct the problem? : )  Take the proper steps and it will pass. Might take a while but I personally don't know anyone that has had lifelong tingling lol. Its just your bodies way of alerting you that something needs to be changed/cared for.

Unless you did not injure yourself and the tingling came about randomly then see a doc.

Having the same symptoms as everyone else. No pain, just the creepy-crawlies & tingling that comes in 15 second waves when I am sitting and leaning forward, like at a desk. I am male, 37, in excellent shape and workout with weights 3x a week. Mine began the evening of Thursday 3/29/12. I am all but certain it is because of the 6 hours I spent outside in the FL sun prepping my yard for a DIY sod job on Sat 3/24 and 6 more hours sodding the next day. My back was sore all week but the tingling began after I did another small touch up to the sod and 3 more hours of raking on Thursday 3/29. A family member who does PT rehabs in the Navy told me it's a nerve issue that will require rest.

SAME FOR ME!

It first started with me about 10 years ago after messing around on a trampoline.  The same tingling feeling showed up (no pain) on my upper back slightly to the left.  I went to the doctor but they had no idea because it was hard to describe.  Eventually it went away.  No spots ever showed up.  It never itched.  However recently after spending a whole day in the sun and getting sunburned pretty bad, the same tingling feeling has returned.

Any answers yet?  I just found this thread and haven't finished reading through all the posts.

I also have a spot on my back that seems to be falling asleep. And it does so when I am Sitting down the most, which makes me think that my blood is cut off from poor circulation and posture. I was in a bike accident recently that i rode away from and went to work, i bruised my knee and scraped my hand i skinned my head a little but I'm starting to suspect that i may have done some sort of nerve damage that is only now showing itself. If anyone knows how to naturally heal nerve damage let me know

I have had the exact same symptons that everyone else is describing. My spine to the right is really numb and it feels like an incureable itch! But before I got those symptoms it all started when my big toes went numb including the backs of my legs it freaked me out and felt so weird I thought I was going to have them chopped off. I went to the doctors and he asked me if I suffered from back pain, I said yes I get horrible pains in the centre of my spine when I sit in certain positions or lift heavy things. So he said I probably suffer from nerve damage and that theres nothing that can be done. But that was before My spine went numb as well so I will probably go back. I can't believe how common this is I thought I was the only one!
