For over 20 years, I've experience the sinus like headaches. I've learned to recognized the early signals; heavy eyes, very light headache and feeling sleepy when you are well rested. It's then that I take Ibprofen 800mg before it turns into a migraine. If I take something too late then I will be out for the count and medication will help.

I too get this type of heaches behind my nose & eyes which makes me feel that it is a sinus head ache my nose feels really sensitive I find myself often thinking i"f could only take my nose off the pain would go away". I also feel my brain swell up usually at the left front part of my face and left temple. I also feel nausea. These symptoms are very often two-three days into my period. They usually last 48 hrs sometimes even 72 hours. I truly feel that it has become a handicap to my work. Does anyone know what could be causing this, how can I prevent it?

I can't believe that I have found people with the same symptoms that I suffer from each month; sometimes briefly when I suspect I am ovulating and then again about the third day in my cycle. They are destroying my quality of life, nothing seems to help them go away. I want some help and relief. kjames symptoms are almost identical to mine, and I also have facial/upper teeth pain. If this is sinus why does it act up at certain times during a menstrual cycle? Or does it have to do with hormones? if that's the case why does it coincide with a menstrual cycle? Please answer.

facial pain. neck pain. eyes, nose mouth & all places where sinuses are. I have been diagnosed with a sinus infection. thats not it. I had my hormones checked, they are perfectly fine. i have read through a bunch of these and there seems to be no help. doctors have no answers as well. it is very difficult to function. especially with a toddler. i have read some about taking evening primrose. some claim it helps. going to try. i cant take it. good luck!

I too deal with this every month along with my knee hurting and my newest issue my hands being so
Swollen when I wake up and tingling and painfully numb I can't even make coffee in the morning let alone zip my pants ... I'm wondering if my endometriosis is back and migrated to strange places in my body... I wonder this because before I had my endometrioma removed it had the same type of pain I have with the headaches and knee and hands.. maybe I'm wrong but maybe not... Why do doctors gotta charge so much money...ugh

I also have severe sinus pressure headaches (usually first two days of my cycle. I have found that sinutab works better than any other over the counter pain control. I use heat (hot water bottle) to help ease the pain on back of my neck & ear. Hope this may be helpful for others.

I agree! Migranal is a lifesaver and is soooooo much better than any triptan or pain killer out there. It seems like many doctors are unaware of it. It works every single time for me, with hardly any side effects, no matter at what point in the headache I take it.

I too experience the sinus issues and headache/ pressure that are detailed throughout the posts. I am trying some new things that may help others. I have a book called " magnesium miracle" and in it there are two sections that talk about and describe these kinds of symptoms and how our estrogen and progesterone spikes are related to magnesium deficiency and what effect that has on us. If anyone else tries what the author outlines and it works please post back, I will too.

I certainly hope we all find some relief!

Thank you for your post with 'magnesium miracle' recommendation. I will look into it and report back. I always prefer the natural route to good health.

Vitamin D deficiency has been linked with migraines. My migraine (PMS related) went away after I was no more deficient. Get yourself tested.

I had these headaches often before and after periods. When I consulted the gynaecologist without any examination, she said it is related to pressure and directed me to another specialist. He gave me pressure medication that made me really weak. I stopped all the medication and researched on the Internet. I found out as Twinkletoes mentioned above, that fluctuating estrogen leves cause these headaches.

Thereafter, I found out what medication can stabilise estrogen levels and took rejucalcium tablets immediately before my periods. The problem was solved to a great extent.

I would suggest you inform your family doctor about the depleting estrogen levels and ask him to prescribe proper medication for you. These days there are many solutions - you need not suffer in silence.

I have had terrible migraine headaches for 3 days before my period and it reoccurs monthly , I have even had to spend the days in bed. Took Nurofen plus and it didnt work, and when I read that you get sinus with your PMS I
thought that coulf be a similar thing with me, I always did have the occasional sinus problem. Nothing was getting rid of my headache, so I took 2 codral cold and flu tabs and the pain went straght away, can't believe it, so now I know what to take for it

I totally have this too.  I called them nose-headaches when I tried to describe them to my OBGYN.  I also have done the advil cold and sinus but my IBS doesn't always like the ibuprofen.  This is how I know my period is coming now that I am not on the pill.  I am glad to know I am not alone.

Cinnamon pills will do the trick. Cinnamon will keep the Platelets in your blood from clumping together and creating unnecessary pressure. Remove the clumping and you will remove the pressure. No worries, your blood will clot just fine if you get a cut; it just will not clump in your blood stream. -Hunter

Hi Everyone, it does feel good to know I am not the only one! I have been having these since last year and couldnt understand why. I just assumed my allergies changed when my son was born because the doc told me that could happen. I found this article which is helpful:

I suffered for MONTHS with neck pain behind my right ear and it always seemed to flare up when I would get my period and last for three days. I started skipping my placebos in my birth control pack and going right on to the next pack, thus, not having a period. Guess what?  Two months I've done this and NO neck pain! I feel amazing! And it is so nice not having a period. Hope this helps.
