I am suffering from polysistic ovarian syndrome and I am currently on birth control pills. What I hate the most about this condition is excessive hair growth. I am experiencing it most on my neck and my chin. It is really annoying. I need to wax these areas every 4 days. Is there anything I can do about this hair growth?

Yes, women with polysistic ovarian syndrome may have high levels of male hormones that influence excessive hair growth. You should have talked about this with your doctor. You are obviously not trying to get pregnant as yu are on BC pills so you may also want to try medicines that can reduce this hair growth. There is Spironolactone or Propecia that block the male hormone’s effect on hair. You may also consider laser hair removal.

i have polysistic ovaries. i had just recently found out a few months ago. they found a cyst on my left ovaries. My hair has been thining and i have dark spots on my skin. i am taking the lo seasonique birth control and i am on prenatal vitamins call concept ob. i feel like the cyst is gone cause my hair isnt thining as much and i rarely see the dark patches on my skin. my mother and sister both had cysts on their ovaries. my sister has four kids and my mom had my brother and i and my sister. my brother and i are twins. so for those who have pcos dont get discouraged and have faith in god and my doctor told me that just because a woman has pcos doesnt mean she can't get pregnant. those are the only side affects i have been having since . my weight is fine, i am 6"5 and i weigh 175lbs. but its more of my height. cause dont look like i weigh that much
