You have an extremely good point. I don't know if that person is actually a "medical professional" or not; I DO know his/her response doesn't seem to be very "professional" at all. It's actually a bit insulting, in my opinion.

To the medical professional who wrote about wasting the ER time and resources. I agree if it I a regular, small, ingrown hair fine, but you should be careful what you tell people because actually ingrown hairs that are sore and inflamed can be staph infections and lead to sepsis which is deadly

clearly you are not a medical profession since you can't even spell the word profession, as well as absurd, emergencies and hospitalization

Are YOU kidding. This sounds like a boil mistaken for ingrown hair and yes please go to ER it could be MRSA

Hey so I'm having the same problem right now except for when mine popped I didn't get any hair out I'm wondering if it just came out when it popped or how to tell? I'm freaking out because i don't want it to get infected I'm using your method right now... but if the hair didn't come out how can I tell if it's healing or just growing over again?

Old thread but look into hidradenitis suppurativa if you have these reoccurring and full of blood/pus. I used to think it was ingrown hairs until I finally got diagnosed correctly.

I agree. In addition, obviously it's not just an ingrown hair, but a boil... which can require lancing by a medical professional as well as antibacterial cream which also requires a medical professional. Probably better suited for a primary physician and not the ER but notwithstanding, boils can infect require professional medical attention. It's clearly more than an ingrown. I know that from a basic 2 week class so obviously the medical proffesional... is really not.

For the jack ass who thinks that an ingrown hair doesnt count as an emergency, I am actually in the hospital right now because of a ingrown hair. It ended with me having a staph infection. With that being said i think you need to go back to school "medical professional" ha your a joke
