Are you kidding?? What in the world do you do in an ER?!! ingrown hairs, abcesees and boils and ALL can be a serious problem if left untreated. So yes, go to an ER if you don't see things improving. And make sure to tell the people like this that you're welcome for the job security.

Was that really necessary to be as rude and nasty to someone simply asking about something foreign on her body that clearly worries her! Being in the "medical profession" as you claim to be, you sure failed the chapter on bedside manner!! Its people like you that bring your personal beliefs into a profession and.seem to forget that its because of ppl that you even have a profession! Get off your high horse and try if at all possible to remove the ingrown stick up ur butt and have some compassion, empathy, or hell maybe even try to care a little, put urself in the other persons shoes! If at all.possible! Treat people how u would want to be treated!! Or find a new profession

For someone claiming to be a medical professional, I certainly have no idea how you made it through medical schooling with such terrible spelling and a gross lack of sympathy. Some people aren't insured and are denied help anywhere but an emergency room, for starters, so all problems should be addressed and all patients treated with respect and sympathy.

I'll leave your crappy punctualization out of the equation, but if you're going to be rude (and likely dishonest) to others you should probably stop and be sure that you aren't opening yourself up for similar treatment.

Ive had one or two like that before, but it wasn't as big. I just got a needle, used a lighter to cool off, and then stick the needle in the middle of it. Once I pulled it out, some pus and fluid came out and it was instant relief. I squeezed it all out and put a little anti infection cream on it and go about my day.

Sorry for your loss.. I believe you. I almost lost my best friend and I mean we were making funeral arrangements. Doctors gave her a 10/20 percent chance of survival. Hers was the size a grape ,but she had a low immunity and her body couldn't fight it off. They tried every thing and at one of the best hospitals in the country. We prayed an prayed her daughter needed her she was only 10 and mom was only 34. Two weeks after entering the hospital as a last ditch attempt to save her they decided, that even though it was unsafe to operate on her and risk spreading, further infection sepsis with her having a negative blood count already it was very risky but it had to be done and miraculously nothing short of a miracle we're the team of doctors words she survived. They had to remove the lymph nodes in her groin, as well as debridement of the affected area, because the infection had spread and damaged them so badly. All over an ingrown hair, from shaving pubic area. She has 3 incision scars and thank God lived to tell about it. If you don't have a doctor, then go to the Er and go on early am 1st shift if you can because that's the time that isn't as busy which is better for you and the staff.

I had one of these. It got to be as big as a golf ball, couldn't sit, extremely painful, etc. I went to the doctor. He took a look and told me to go home and sit in a tub of hot water(as hot as you can stand) with Epsom salt. It worked the first time! It just opened up and I had immediate relief and out went away.

If it is infected, then yes. I waited cause I thought just like your post and ended up swollen, in the hospital being rushed to the OR diagnosed with MRSA.

You are medical practitioner but you are completely wrong ,i been my self with pain that i was crying. I had a ingrown hair in my but i am 46 yrs old never ever experienced pain like this . So i think that even on ER people should go if they are in pain . plus you never can get appointments with stupid gp they tell you phone next week to see if we can fit you in hahahah
